***** ***** They come to your door offering "cheaper" gas than what *** can provide. They do not go through the exact details of how they charge for their service. Most places charge based on usage which makes logical sense. StateWise charges you a fee per day. So if you use no gas for the day, guess what your still paying. My gas bill went up 5x compared to what *** offered. The fact that *** somehow offers a better price than them, should be pretty good indication how ****** this company is. **** ***** *** **** ***** ** **** **** ** ** *** *********** *** ****** *** **** **** **** ********** *** *** ****

Approached by 2 young salespeople telling me PG&E was over charging me and showed me I can get reimbursed by telling me my tier 2 charges could be lowered to tier 1 for $1.59 a month but never said anything about a 5 year contract or the insane charges if I cancelled. I didn’t expect this was going to be the situation I was going to be in and don’t want anything to do with this company! I was totally scammed by these salesmen and tricked into initialing some type of agreement over my phone. * **** *** ** **** *** *** ******** **** not to fall for this like I did!

Two reps showed up ad spoke to my wife asking to see her electric bill. They sayed they worked for ***. My wife declined and they said that she HAD to show them the bill. she asked them to leave and they said they would just come back tomorrow. She then told me and i hopped in the car and drove the neighborhood. once i found them they said that they were hired by the state. i asked one of the reps for his name and he said i didnt need to know his name. i told him that if he came back to my house the next day we would have a problem and he then told me that it would just be someone else coming to my house the next day. i am not letting this one go.... i got the reps card and i will taking this to the next level.

Had two strangers approach me asking to see our energy bill, after showing them they claimed to be able to give us a better rate. After telling them I wasn’t the account holder they said “that’s ok,” a huge red flag. I went along with it, just to see how far they could get without a valid contract. After the file, I contacted them less than 24 hours later letting them know the invalidity of the contract, since the email and phone number associated with it isn’t linked to the account holder, but instead linked to me. You’d think they’d flag the contract to verify its authenticity, but they haven’t, even after being told the account holder didn’t speak to anyone or sign anything from Statewise, they couldn’t care less and are attempting to operate with a ***** contract. The account holder (my elderly Father) is aware of the situation, and even he is flabbergasted how easy it is for someone who isn’t an account holder to be able to alter anything from his account without the proper verification or permission.

A woman came to the door saying she was doing an audit because there had been complaints from the neighbors about the gas rates jumping up and that she was collecting information to make sure folks weren't being overcharged. I had gotten some service notices in the mail from my real gas provider so it didn't seem that strange. She repeatedly said I would remain a customer of my existing provider and that she was just collecting information. She fast-talked her way into getting my basic info and having me fill out a 'survey' to make sure I received all the right information. Well the survey turned out to be a 5-year contract with StateWise to take over as my provider without my knowledge. Something felt off about it so I immediately called my existing provider to make sure no changes had been made and called StateWise to cancel whatever account she apparently signed me up for. The phone rep said it was no problem but I certainly don't trust them, and will be following up over the next few months to make sure they don't try to switch my service or bill me for something I was signed up for under false pretenses. I hope they do the right thing and cancel/close whatever they signed me up for, but this is clearly a pattern for them and it's a ********** way to conduct business.

Representatives are presenting themselves as part of ** * * ********  stating they are going to get my gas cost down because I am being over charged. They said they would put in a request to make sure my gas is at a standard rate of $1.39/day. They never told me that I was signing a contract with Statewise Energy or that I was going to be in a 5 year contract. When asking questions to the representative who they were, it was very vague. Plus what infuriated me more is that they were able to do this change without my permission. They tricked my daughter to sign. She was the one who they spoke to not me. I called them right away to cancel before anything starts because the cancellation fees. State wise provided me with a cancellation number but no follow up email confirming it was cancelled. If anything never show a bill or have anyone else in your family show your bill they can make changes with the account number shown. Very ********* tactics especially to a minor.

A young woman representing StateWise Energy California came to our door and explained that she was simply collecting information about what our community members are paying for gas so her company could complain to our local utility company ****** about overcharging us. She told us that StateWise sells natural gas to **** and that **** is overcharging. I specifically asked her if she was selling her company's services and she assured me that no, she was just collecting information. When I left the room, she told my husband that he just had to place his initials on her phone so she could verify the report from him and he did that. After she left, he received a contract for switching our gas provider to them. Wow! *** *** **** ********** *** *********** ********** *** ****** ** ******** If you have good services, sell them honestly.
