            - May 21/21 Ordered 2 storm doors from ******** ********* ( supplied by Gentek ). Cost $1517.30 - July 19/21 their handyman estimate for installation. - $508.50 - Called back handyman a few times for problems over the first few months - Spoke with ***** at ******* ********* throughout about the issues - May 2022 renewed efforts to resolve storm door issues after rain pour into the house - talked to ***** again and tried to reach the handyman as well - eventually found out that there was a new handyman (****) who went out checked the doors and said that there was a fault with the doors, put duck tape on the screen and left us to deal with the company -Oct 6/22 spoke to a *** at Gentek who said that the screen was a warranty issue, I asked that someone come out and check the doors and either fix or remove them -I have tried every number I have and left messages but there has been no communication

            I engaged a company ********** to replace the windows in my house. The job cost over 20K and the windows were supplied by GenTek as a subcontractor. GenTek botched the installation by putting the wrong sized screws in the windows that secure the retracting arm to the window assembly, thereby ruining the windows and making them impossible to close. I complained and ********** assured me they contacted GenTek to fix the problem. A few months later (due to COVID) a van with 3 men showing up to my home.. and after 5 mins of looking at my faulty windows, they decided that; 1. The windows were installed INCORRECTLY BY GENTEK with screws that were too small 2. They did not have the right-sized screws in their van and needed to order replacement parts. They ensured to me that they would get the right screws and fix this problem in a week..... THAT WAS JUNE.... IT IS NOW OCTOBER!!!! We spent an enormous amount of money on this job and so far they have refused to repair the damage they have done. My windows are still broken with NO end in sight. No only recourse at this point is to secure a lawyer to sure ********** on breach of contract. This is a HORRIBLE business to deal with and you trust your home with. If you live in Ottawa, please avoid them!!
