Refused to honor a quote they provided They left my home without power They scheduled work, arrived, refused to complete the work because of a mistake they made. Did not perform a proper load calculation.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/12/2022

The technician who first came out to site to provide a quote made an error, believing that it was a 200amp service instead of a 100amp service. For the amount of additional load the client wants to add, more than 100amps would be required. The technician who arrived to execute this estimate drew the client's attention to this fact and error on our part, which we take full resonsibility for. At this point, the client became vocally abusive and angry, using inappropriate language, and forcefully told our technician to leave his premises. He then proceeded to call our office and continued to berate our CSR with inappropriate language for a significant period of time. Our technician who quoted the work later called the client to apologize for the error and discuss a solution. The client again acted in the same inappropriate manner. We will not continue to subject our staff to this type of behaviour.

The client is not without power. No work was done on our part, and power was never disconnected from the property. Had the client interacted in a courteous and professional manner, we would have gladly provided the client with an estimate for the proper services. However, since he consistently disrespected our employees, it is our right as a business to choose to longer service this client.

    Complaint: 18510688

I am rejecting this response because:

Your staff arrived at 8:10am looking hung-over and in no mood to do any sort of work - they tried to push their way in the front door before being told it was around back (as caught on google camera at the front door). Immediately,  before looking at anything, there was a problem with the quote.

I said no, 100Amp service was quoted, this is what is here, and you spec'd ect ect on your quote. Ya, ok - no problem there. Continues working - undoes panel in basement

Then there was no space on the panel!
um, yes there is, there are 6 open breaker spaces, and 2 breakers in place that are to disconnected circuits that need to be run in order to return power to the existing bedrooms, hallway, and front lights.

He said, no, we can't do that.
What!?! What can't you do? This is what you are here to do?!?

I said if you don't want to do the work - get out, I went to get my phone to call your office.

They stripped the screws on the panel when they put the front back on, and literally ran out of the back door when I came back into the area.

I told the office I don't want that electrician back in my place, and you guys would not honor any part of the quote you have given me which is work I have been waiting 2 weeks to complete.

    So,
I will have to wait another... un-told amount of time before I can ****** the rooms that are fully furnished, 1min from the university without power (your honour)

I also will not be able to finalize my renovation for the area downstairs for and un-told amount of time so that it may be on ****** (your honour)

I also will also... well... let's keep the best of them for the actual hearing.

The most disrespectful, deliberately belligerent electrician I have run into in a long long time.

Followed by your electrician acknowledging the error, but literally not giving a shit about leaving significant parts of my home without power, or performing the work that did not need to be re-quoted, but could simply be performed.

Spin whatever tale you what about why you didn't want to do the work, how angry would you be if the electrician that shows up to do the work after waiting almost a month from the date of the quote strips the screws on the panel and takes off after acting like a completely unprofessional ass?

    Sincerely,
    ****** *****
