***** ** **** ******* I know my dog's parents and neither of their breeds even showed up on the test. The breed that did show up looks nothing like my dog and there's no way that is her breed. When I called to complain they told me they would rerun the test then magically 2% of the breed I told them she was popped up. ****** would not return because it took them 3 months to get the results so it had been too long. Customer service danced around the question trying to give me information I didn't need what I need is my money back. Of course this is all done over email because nobody answers their phones.

We did report a micro-level trace of a breed after reviewing your results with you manually and provided you with some additional insights. **** ******* ***** ** ** * ******** ***** ** ****** I have no idea how they process the DNA and come to the conclusions they do but wow is it off. I purposely did not include a photo as I did read that sometimes they guess based on a photo. The results came back wildly inaccurate. I asked for a refund OR to have them send me another kit and they refused and held to the fact there's no chance they are wrong. **** **** ******DNA My Dog Response

Hi *******, We are sorry to hear that you are having some trouble with the results you received. We completely understand how confusing it might be to receive breed composition results for your dog which do not match your expectations. Based on our correspondence, you believed your dog was a Border Collie mix but the DNA results have concluded that your dog is in fact a German Shepherd and Australian Cattle Dog mix, which can certainly look like a Border Collie mix. We encourage you to research the features of both of these breeds on their own as well as in a mixed breed dog to get a better understanding of your results. You should make that very clear when ordering test what ot can be used for. Also gave me a breed analysis of my dog and it is completely wrong !Review from Renee A

I sent sample week of 10-sep-2023. They ckaim it wasn't received until Oct 6. This conveniently a day after I uploaded a picture of the dog. It could be the postal system but more likely I think this is poor timeliness and others have posted about this company making guesses based on pictures. Save your money and use more reliable services like ******. I still don't have results after a month.....DNA My Dog Response

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the length of time it took for **** to mail your sample to us. I do see that your results were available in less than two weeks after your sample was received. It sounds like perhaps you have not logged into your account to review them yet. Additionally, you can only upload a photo at the time your test is registered, not after. Adding a photo is optional and does not affect the results you receive. Results are based strictly on the DNA sample provided.
I do note that you completed a test with us earlier in the year and upgraded your kit after you received those results. As a repeat customer, we trust you have enjoyed the results you have received. Please contact us directly should you require any assistance with retrieving your results.

I purchased the test on June 20th, 2023. July 12th 2023. I received an email saying that DNA my dog has received my DNA sample. But oddly enough, included in that email is a line about upgrading to the premium test which is something that I already bought and so this confused me. I emailed them back explaining my confusion. They assure me that I have already bought the premium test and that my results would be available in 2 to 3 weeks. July 27th I received an email that states breed determination. The body of their email to me states: "Dear ****** ******, Thank you for using DNA My Dog to discover your dog's unique genetic make up. Attached is a printable document of your custom certificate. Thank you for testing your dog with us, we really appreciate it. All the best, All of us at DNA My Dog DNA My Dog 1543 Kingston Rd., Toronto, ON M1N 1R9" I click on the attachment and it does not tell me what the breed of my dog is. It only gives an estimate of how old the dog is. So I emailed them again. July 26th, 2023 I state that I am unable to see the breed of my dog. DNA my dog replies that the genetic age test has been completed and I am still waiting for the breed test to come back. August 16th, 2023. I have almost forgotten that I am still waiting for results until a friend reminds me. So, I went back to my previous email where they told me we were still waiting for the breed results and replied to them. I asked once again where the results are and let them know that I think this is taking an absurd amount of time. Within two and a half hours. I magically have my test results. As they just finished... I am also seeing that DNA my dog is a mediocre company at best. So now not only am I unhappy with the customer service and the length of time that I have waited. But I am also unhappy with the amount of money I paid. I would not recommend it.Review from Linda B

I think this company tries to be accurate, but their methods are flawed. Like others, I sent my almost 100% beagle dogs kit to them, only to be told she is Rottweiler (Level 3), Siberian Husky (Level 3), Akita (Level 4), Mastiff (Level 4), and Pug (Level 4). I purposely did not send a photo because I wanted to see what they came up with. I see many excuses from them regarding their test, but in the end there is just little accuracy. Imagine if you did your own DNA test and it came back showing you were not even included in the basic DNA that you looked like (i.e. all from white races, when in fact your skin was black). I am not looking for any refund, just an acknowledgement that the test are flawed. We are sorry to hear you were not happy with your results. We do provide accurate results and any one of our team would be happy to go over your results with you, Sometimes results are not what you expect, and dogs can always look different in a mix. I can see how the mix you state above could look like a Beagle, for example. Our test is designed to provide an accurate breed break down.Review from Mary S

Apartment complex needed to see breed proof of my dog and required me to get a DNA test of my dog. I chose DNA My Dog but was extremely displeased with the results. The results came back as large % estimates (60-90% of this breed and 10-25% of this breed). My apartment complex did not accept this as a factual DNA test and I was confused by the "estimated" results as well. I contacted the company and instead of addressing my concerns they only were trying to persuade me on the breed results. I once again explained to them the types of breeds were not my concern but rather the factual results themselves. I did request a refund and received no response. I now have to buy a completely new test and spend twice the amount of money I planned on originally.DNA My Dog Response

You had later followed up indicated that you had not received a health screening report, nor a sex determination report for your dog, neither of which are services that we offer. ************************************************ Their DNA testing platform is not at all accurate - anyone considering using DNAMyDog please beware that what they send you may be completely wrong. My results were so obviously wrong (by simply looking at my dog) that I sent a sample to another company and the results I received were completely (and I mean completely) different. And the new results made complete sense.
I see the same concern posted by others.

************ I had my pitbull pix dog tested. Mother is pure pitbull. Father is a shepherd mix. Because I was unsure of the father's mix I wanted my puppy tested. It came back saying he is 61%-99% king Charles spaniel and 10-25% rottweiler. Absolutely no way! Don't have either of those breeds at home nor has my dog been around any other dogs. They refuse to give me a refund and are stating the test came back wrong due to me not doing the test properly. Based on recent reviews I am clearly not the issue here.DNA My Dog Response

well i had the dog dna test which was 199.00 that includes age,allergies,breed . I don't know for sure if the allergy test is accurate but i do know the breed and the age is way way off. i ask them about a refund and they denied. *************************************************************** **********. all i want is a refund so i can hopefully get an accurate dna breed test.
