Discover different ways recipients of the Torch Awards for Ethics are recognized and able to market their award.
How are the winners recognized?
- The award ceremonies for the winners will occur at their place of business with the company's employees and/or key personnel. Invitations to attend can be sent out to local media, dignitaries and vendors in support of the accomplishment.
- A press release will be sent out to local media announcing the winners.
- An all-weather banner will be ordered by BBB announcing the winner. The banner shall become the property of winner to use as they like in accordance with the BBB Torch Awards advertising rules.
- A BBB Torch Awards trophy will be given to the winner.
- All winners will be posted on the BBB website and on BBB social media.
What may a BBB Torch Awards for Ethics winner or finalist advertise or announce about receipt of the award?
Provided there is prior review and approval from BBB for draft proofs of any advertisement, a recipient may do any or all, of the following:
- Reproduce a copy of the statutory award
- State the following: [Recognition Received, i.e. “Winner” or “Finalist”], Better Business Bureau Torch Awards for Ethics
- Issue announcements and press releases about receipt of the award within the year of its receipt
- Make a brief factual statement about the award and the required business qualifications
BBB shall provide brand-approved artwork to the business for use in their advertising mediums.
Where may a BBB Torch Awards for Ethics recipient advertise?
The recipient may advertise in the following media:
- Print publications, such as newspapers, periodicals, direct mail, annual reports, posters and flyers
- Traditional media such as television, radio spots and outdoor billboards
- Digital platforms, such as social media, websites, email and digital newsletters
For how long may a BBB Torch Awards for Ethics winner or finalist advertise?
- The recipient may advertise the award indefinitely, but only as long as they maintain at least a B rating from BBB and the business may not have been the subject of pending or final government or regulatory actions or another activity that may poorly reflect upon BBB.
