About Torch Awards

Introduction

The Torch Awards honors companies whose leaders demonstrate a high level of personal character and ensure that the organization's practices meet the highest standards of ethics and consequently generate trust. These companies generate high trust among their employees, customers, and communities. The award embodies the Better Business Bureau's mission of advancing marketplace trust.

Eligibility

Nominated Businesses and Non-Profits must be located and conduct business in this BBB service area. The company must have a satisfactory record with the BBB. Businesses are not eligible if they have been a recipient of a Torch Award in the past two (2) years. No government agencies are eligible. Nominees are NOT required to be an accredited business of the BBB.

Award Categories

Companies entering the Torch Awards will be judged in one of three categories:

Integrity: Businesses that maintain a solid commitment to ethical business practices and integrity.
Customer Commitment: Businesses with an outstanding customer service program exceed customers' expectations.
Non-Profit: Non-Profit organizations that have positively impacted the community and surrounding areas they operate.

Upon request, the 2024 Award Finalists and Winners may use the 2024 Registered BBB Finalists and Winners Logos. The Better Business Bureau must provide these Logos to you.

Judging

Entries are evaluated by an independent, voluntary panel of judges comprised of business and community leaders.

Supporting Materials

The business or organization considered for a Torch Award must submit its history for judging. Supporting materials are optional; however, they are essential in the judging process. Supporting materials could include customer commitment and relations information, pictures, brochures, awards received in the past, or information that you believe will highlight the company's entry.
