Taxis near you

You may want to call a cab to go to the airport instead of parking for a week. Or want to be responsible after having one too many drinks at dinner. Or need a way to get around on vacation or a business trip.

Whatever the reason, doing a little research and preparation in advance of needing a ride will serve you well when you do actually need one. If your car breaks down and you’re rattled and stressed out, you won’t want to have to start looking into taxi services while you’re stuck on the side of the highway.

The availability of cab services can vary greatly depending on where you live. If you live in a remote town where everyone drives themselves everywhere, you may have one car service option that you have to call on the phone and schedule in advance.

If you’re in a city, you may have a variety of options from yellow cabs you can hail on the corner to rideshare services (ie, Uber or BBB Accredited Business Lyft) you can schedule on demand with an app. There are even some apps you can use to schedule a regular taxi.

It can be scary getting into a car with someone you don’t know, so be sure that when you’re considering a cab company that you think about safety. If the taxi company has a website, check how they vet their drivers. If not, call and ask.  Check with your friends and family to see what kind of experiences they have had with different companies.
