Last January 11, 2023 I was a victim of a fraudulent sales of a fictitious item online. Taking steps to recover my loss, I notified the bank and pursued detective work to track down the business/person whose phone number appeared on the scamming website. I stumbled into SeekHD.com which offered a reverse look-up service to find the owner of a cell phone line if one indicated a phone number. The service cost CAD 68 cents per search which I used twice since I had found two phone numbers. Because of SEEKHD.COM's service however I was able to track down the scammer whom I was able to report to the BBB and eventually was refunded the amount I had initially thought to have lost. SEEKHD.COM however started charging my credit card at the frequency of every two weeks, amounts I have not authorized: 2023 19Jan - CAD 37.14 02Feb - CAD 23.08 19Feb - CAD 37.40 05Mar- CAD 23.61 22Mar- CAD 37.95 05Apr- CAD 23.32 22Apr- CAD 37.47 06May- CAD 23.48 To date the total has come around to- CAD 243.45. Calling their contact info from Seekhd.com "Contact Us,." would only allow one to leave messages and press a numerical command to "cancel," one's membership which I had not signed up for in the first place except for the discrete service of tracing a phone number to whoever owns it. Reporting online nor phoning SEEKHD.com did not yield results. Their receipt says that if a customer does not cancel their service within 21 days from date of use, SEEKHD will start charging a monthly membership of $ 16.88. They charged me however approximately $ 60.00 in two installments every month. In total they charged me unnecessarily $ 159.05 from February to May 2023. SEEKHD.Com should refund me the said amount and should discontinue their deceptive practices. Ironically I resorted to SEEK.HD to help me out of being a victim to online fraud. I was grossly mistaken.
