Contact was initially made on Bumble, but conversation quickly went over to snapchat. While on snapchat there was conversation that surrounded "Jared's" work, in which he did sports betting and stocks. He then would try to convince me to place bets through him. I initially declied due to not having knowledge in the subject. He would explain how the beting worked many times and said he didnt have to pay taxes because he was native American, and that he did no risk first bets so the first bet I could put in $1000 and even if I didnt win the bet he would still give me $2000. He and I continued to have regularly conversations about ourself. He tried to meet with me a few times, but would always stop talking to me an hour or two before we were going to meet up. He then tried to get me to send money to him randomly to go on a bet that "was for sure going to hit", but I did not have money at the time to send him. He then asked when I would have money by and I told him by friday, but that was my rent check. He asked when rent was due and if I had any bills due that weekend. I said no, and that rent was due the next week, so he said it was safe for me to send him my paycheck so he could put it into a bet in which I could win $35,000. So friday morning I had transferred $1000 to him on venmo ( his handle on venmo is Playstation guy). After I sent it to him, he held conversationwith me for a few hours, but soon started ignoring me. I kept contacting him and he eventually said that he was from out of the country and he scammed me. I asked if he could at least send my rent money back and he declined.
