Description

I originally had a free travel benefit with NEA. I was contacted after my first trip to consider paying for a paid membership. It began with saying that after 6 months of a paid membership I would receive a travel resort credit for any resort around the world. However, after I paid my 6 months membership I went to view my resort credit and there were very few resorts to choose from. I told them I was misled because the agent told me I could go anywhere in the world and they told me that was incorrect. I canceled my membership. They continued to call and off more and more travel dollar amounts. I did return for a couple of months and saw it was just the same scam. I was able to access the free version again briefly. I was able to use the regular benefits for being a teacher. This benefit was always supposed to be accessible to me as it was for almost 2 years prior. Shortly after another agent contacted me about paying again for the elevated "benefits." I told him I am no longer interested in paying for their benefits. I have had countless calls (many recorded) with information varying from agent to agent about the program. I often spoke with my account manager who ensured me many times he would help with an issue I had at that time. The costs of travel would change drastically right before booking and I ended up paying way. more for my trip than originally stated. Always excuses why. He would me one part of information and the next time I talked to him it would be completely different. He always claimed there was no record of talking to me. I told him I had the conversations recorded and he would instantly try to take what he said back. After I denied the paid benefits this last time, my whole account was frozen. Even my free version. I have talked to Irvin 4 times since and each time he said he has told me that he has put in a request with his supervisors each time. Each time he tells me my account should be reactivated within 24-48 hours. Each time I call back he tells me the same nonsense. I first talked to him about this issue in June 6, 2023. It is now September 13, 2023. I stressed to my manager that I have the resort credit I paid $600 to receive and I would like to use it before it expires. I need my account to be reactivated before I can book this credit. However, they will not reissue my account. I also have "travel dollars" I have received as a result of my paid membership but I cannot access those either. I told them I would like a refund of my credit if they cannot provide me access to my account. They denied my request. If me credit expires, they said they will sell or auction my credit off. This is the biggest scam to get double the money for one resort credit. They are fully aware that I want to use it, but they will not let me. They are not sure how my account was locked in the first place. This is just lie after lie.
