The scammer used a pre-existing website that they did not create to make their product look legit. They were selling “authentic“ cowboy hats at discount cost. The hat we purchased was supposed to be a Stetson cowboy hat, which are made in the USA. However, the hat that we received had a tag that said made in China and was extremely poor quality. It was also black when the hat we ordered was brown. When we attempted to contact them, we realized their only contact information was an email address, no physical address or phone number. We sent multiple emails and never received a reply. When looking at online reviews of this company, we noticed multiple other people experienced the same situation, where they received poor quality, inauthentic cowboy hats. They also did not receive responses or were told to mail the hats back at the purchasers cost. When looking further into this colorloox.com company, we realized that they have sold colored contacts lenses as well.
