***** is highly unprofessional and harassed a paying client because I had the audacity to ask for an update after months of trying to file taxes. She also missed the majority of phone calls, emails and update meetings. ***** cannot keep her personal issues and business separate. She takes out her anger on clients. ************************* verbally assaulted a paying client through email with insults, false statements and childish name calling. I would not recommend her services as she is unprofessional and inefficient.

    Tax America Inc Response

    09/19/2023

I have been preparing Tax Returns  since **** (37 years ago). This is my first "complaint"...

Complainant is a member of our valued, respected, and treasured family/clients who have been filing their taxes with Tax America for about 20 years now!  So far, there has been no complaint, even when Complainant was still in grade school...

For Tax Year 2022, Complainant did the following, among others: 1)  Filed her Tax Return with her (new) husband with OTHER TAX PREPARER, in other State, 2) Ordered Tax America to prepare and file WITHOUT disclosing that they have already filed, 3) Complainant did not disclose that she did not change her last name to her married name, 4) Complainant did not submit her Form 1095-A.

These critical issues were addressed later on - only when discovered by Tax America, after massive research, one issue after the other - but NOT WITHOUT DELAYS, NATURALLY! Complainant left nasty and ugly messages, accusing me of unprofessionalism, questioning my skills, etc. - blaming me  for the problems that SHE AND HUSBAND CAUSED - AND THEY KNEW IT!!  I spent lots of time and efforts - trying to find out "what must have happened. why is IRS rejecting our filing of their information.." .  That early morning, after spending another sleepless night digging in the internet, I contacted the Complainant and husband.  I've shared with them what  I found out: IRS' RECORD SHOWS THAT THEIR 2022  INCOME TAX RETURN HAS BEEN FILED - BY ANOTHER TAX PREPARER !  Amazingly, all of a sudden, THEY REMEMBERED what they did!

Tax America's computations gave higher Refund than the First Preparer's.  When Complainant and Husband said "Sorry" (??:(  and asked that I do  the amendment, I  forgave, and said" "this too will pass...don't worry about it...  let's move on"...I accepted and agreed to help them do the Amendment. It was a BIG mistake :(

For e filing an amendment, I had to make sure that the original e filing has been done/posted.  I was  still in the process of determining this important step when, once again, I got bombarded by the Complainant's disrespectful, demeaning attitude, and messages - blaming me again - for being unprofessional, inefficient... just because they were "paying clients".  I happened to share to her that "I am doing all I can - and I had a roof that needed to replace..." She accused me of mixing business, her tax woes and delay of  her  refund,  with my personal stuffs!!!!

I had seen the complainant when she was a little girl. She has great parents. Now, it  hurts... I probably should have just bite my lips (like in some instances) but I had more than I can take from her... Somehow, I thought, this should not happen again with her and anybody else in the future...

I DID NOT ENJOY "THIS INCIDENT"... I HOPE AND PRAY THAT SOMEHOW... AS WE LIVE,  WE GROW UP, AND WE LEARN THAT  NO MAN IS AN ISLAND...
