This company is usurious and preys on people in need . They take applicants through a lengthy process and then quotes rates and payments that are sinfully overpriced . 1200 loan equals 16 payments of 560 . Thats almost 9000. When you decline the offer , the agent got an attitude like he was doing a favor by getting 8000 in interest . Companies like this should be shut downInitial Complaint

I borrowed 400 dollars from this business and paid back over 800 dollars and they still say I owe them money. I can't believe the interest rate which is almost a thousand percent. I was desperate for food and gas money and didn't realize I'd be caught in a trap.Initial Complaint

I did an online personal loan. The web sight glitched and when it came back it showed that the payment were going to be extremely high but would not allow to see what the rest of the terms were so I got out of the sight . A few hours later the money showed up to my bank account. I thought about sending it back . Then I decided will I understand paying interest and it will be higher With the higher payments will pay off sooner. But my "MY FREAKING GOODNESS IT IS A ****** *********". I feel like the web glitched on purpose to trick you $1050 the loan payments are twice a month of ****** until August. that is over $4,000 I ask what pay off will be end January $1,300 something That can't be legal WHAT A NIGHTMAREBusiness response

I never signed a loan with company, nor did I receive or use loan money from them, but I am being told that they deposited money for me in a ********** account. I do not have a Chase account and I need help getting this corrected with this company since they are pursuing me for a debt that I did not sign for nor received. Please help by letting this company know their error. They can not possibly have proof against me on this since all of their information is incorrect. It seems like a scam in my email inbox. I have never received any documents via postal mail for this, just email that seems like spam or scam.Thank you.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: I need the business to respond to this complaint, not write a letter. I do not even know what type of letter is being mentioned by the business. It might very well be a letter stating that I owe them. They might send a letter stating that I owe them for something that I did not receive.For this reason, I am asking that the business respond to the Better Business Bureaus complaint on my behalf, wether they choose to write a letter or not.

This company, Minto Money processed a loan for unknown person(s) that used my name, email, phone and ss#. I talked to Citi with Minto Money's fraud person ******** on the line (they have the recording and so does Citi) and they confirmed that my name is not associated with the account ******************** approved the loan on and sent money to. I also confirmed with the same parties on the line via my social sec number that I have no accounts with Citi. Minto Money i I got a loan for $1,000 I have made multiple payments of $289.35 which equals to $2,025. THEY ARE RIPPING ME OFF! It is illegal for them to do business in my state, I will file a lawsuit if they continue to attempt to take money from me!! It is also illegal to charge this much interest!! I took out a loan of $2100 in Feb 23 It is now September with over $5800 paid. I would like this loan to be considered resolved and closed due to health conditions and hardship. To Whom It May ******** On May 2023, I got approved for a loan with Minto for the amount of $1000. I naively accepted. I have realized that Minto is charging me an Annual percentage rate of ******% which is very high and illegal in the state of ********. This so called business is taking advantage of people like me, that desperately need money for emergencies and charge you such a high amount of interest that its almost impossible to pay off soon. By the time I finish the loan, I will have paid $5.356.07. How is that even fair and legal?! And by the way, I already paid not only the entire $1000 that they lent me, but also over $300 on top of that. It has been a couple rough months, which is why I took out a loan with Minto. Biggest mistake ever. I am in more debt than ever because of this. I need help with this matter. Since I did pay back the $1000, I would like to get this resolved and stop the extra payments. They never got back to you or me to settle the amount, since it has been paid off yet they continue to charge my account extra high interest every month.
They tried to take out money out of my account this morning and ignored my claim made through your company.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: Minto manager sent me an email saying that as a one time courtesy they will let me pay $500 to settle de loan. The thing is, I have already paid more than the original amount they lent me, which once again, was for the amount of $1000. The $500 settlement offer means I did not pay the loan, which is not the case here.
I will not pay any X amount anymore because the loan has been paid. They just want to keep charging money as a settlement instead of closing the loan since its paid off. I dont find it fair so I reject their offer.

I am rejecting this response because:
They keep trying to get a payment from me. I have reached out to them letting them know why I wont pay the extra illegal and crazy high fees but a representative have not responded to my last email. The only email I have seen from Minto management is the one that says that they want to settle the loan and I rejected it because once again, the loan has been paid off. Minto have not reached out to address my concern, they just want more money! I communicated that to them via email and I have not heard from a real person since.
They keep calling and sending automatic emails but not to sort this out, only to pressure me to keep on paying extra. This is also harassment.
I have attached the last automatic email they sent. I paid the $1000 loan already yet they want me to pay over $1800! How is that legal or fair?! Its not.

I applied and got approved for a loan with Minto Money on 6/30/23. The funds were deposited the same day. I planned on paying the loan off in full before the first scheduled payment date: 7/14. I called on 6/13 to pay the loan off in full and was informed that I would also be charged the first installment on 6/14 despite paying off the loan on 6/13. I am being charged $2,326.92 despite the signed loan agreement stating that there is no penalty for prepayment. No where in the agreement does it state that payments in full need to be made 3 days in advance. The agent on the phone explained that she is setting the payment date for payoff for 6/14. I believe that they are doing this to get more money rather than scheduling it for the day I called to pay it off. This is a breech of their loan agreement. I can't get a manager on the phone. I told the company that I will dispute the fraudulent charge and then they pooled the additional $326 into my payoff amount so I can't do so. I am requesting that the agreement that I signed be abided by and that I receive a refund for the fraudulent charge.Business response

While Minto Money is not subject to regulation by states, the Tribe takes the concerns of other sovereigns and our customers seriously.
Minto Money is wholly owned by the Tribe, and functions as an economic arm of the Tribe. Through Minto Money the Tribe raises governmental revenues to provide services to Tribal citizens, just as other sovereign governments do with revenues they generate through taxation or other means. Tribal jurisdiction is clearly indicated on our website, and in all our documents, including but not limited to, our contracts. Minto Money is a sovereign-owned enterprise which the Tribe closely regulates, and from which the Tribe requires consumer-protective best practices. Minto Money loans are legal under applicable Tribal law, which requires compliance with the principles of federal consumer protection laws.
Minto Money interest and fees applicable to your loan are permitted by Tribal law. The terms and conditions of the loan were clearly and accurately reflected in the loan agreement that you voluntarily signed before receiving the loan. You electronically signed for your loan and, when doing so, acknowledged you agreed to the terms, had read the entire loan agreement, and had the ability to download or print a copy of the signed agreement. You also received a TILA disclosure that outlined the amount and date of each payment required under the loan agreement. The loan agreement also clearly states The laws of the Tribe and applicable federal law will govern this Agreement, without regard to the laws of any state or other jurisdiction, including the conflict of laws rules of any state.
You electronically signed for your loan and, when doing so, acknowledged you agreed to the terms, had read the entire loan agreement, and had the ability to download or print a copy of the signed agreement. Customers are welcome to pay off their loan at any time and save money. There are no prepayment penalties for Minto Money loans, and we do encourage our customers to pay off early to avoid additional interest charges. As stated in your loan agreement, If you prepay all or part of the principal amount due on your loan, your finance charges on the amount prepaid will be calculated as of the date of your prepayment.
We take issue with your claim. In accordance with page 3 of your loan agreement, If you would like to arrange a modified payment schedule, you must contact a customer service representative no later than 3 days prior to your next scheduled payment due date to make those payment schedule modifications if you would like them in effect for the next payment due date. Both your scheduled payment and pay-off payment were processed on 7/14, closing your account.
