I had sent many emails I have proof to the company and telling them they are pulling payments out of a closed account. I even called giving them my new bank info. The representative told me they had new info as now my closed account has $500 in fees do to them. Also I was told as long as I got my payments put on time it would be paid off in 3 months now they say I still owe them $2000+ but yet ive paid them over $4000 dollars. And I never can get a American speaking person. I am not happy for them taking all my money and overdrafting my closed account.Business response

Minto money has pulled out my payment early every payment leaving my bank account over drawn and leaving me struggling to take care of my children and getting gas to get to and from work. I have called multiple times and they always tell me that they fix it, next payment they do it again, again leaving me struggling. I even went as far as making a new loan contract and being told that the dates were adjusted for my paycheck days. This current payment wasnt supposed to come out until 6/10/22 and Minto money pulled it out today 6/6/22 again leaving my bank account overdrawn and me stressing and struggling. I have called every time this happens and they wont/dont fix it. The supervisor is supposed to be figuring it out and listening to the recorded calls but wont talk to me on the phone. He/she just wants to make sure that the payment is going to clear on their end. Seeing all of the unnecessary over draws on my bank account is going to hinder me being able to get approved for things later on.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: Minto Money sent me a email saying that they closed my account and waived any unpaid balances, but actually I paid my account off in full MYSELF to keep from getting screwed over by them. I called on multiple occasions to get it right and they never did. Since Minto wouldn't fix my account and over **** my bank account with EVERY SINGLE payment that they pulled, I was recently rejected for a loan to buy my family an RV to temporarily live in because my account had been overdrawn so much, ever since I got the loan from Minto Money. So as much as Minto would like to think that they resolved the matter and fixed their issue of horrible customer service, they actually did not do anything for me. They actually put my family and I in a real tough spot!!
Sincerely,

I obtained a loan from this company back in April 2022. The agreement stated that after I was paying the loan back, I would have made a total payment of between 600$ and 700$. I logged into the loan account just to check and the terms of my agreement had changed. It had now said that the amount I will be paying back at the end is over 2000$ dollars and I believe the interest rate said something like 609%. This company is giving loans out and once the agrement is signed and money deposited, it changes.Business response

I took a loan with Minto Money. The interest rate they charge is insane and their website is awful. Not helpful at all. It doesn't show how much you have left outstanding or how much you have paid in. They want to keep it hidden from you so you can't keep track of it. I am very dissatisfied with them. I am having a very difficult time and reached out to them for support. Since they claim to care about their customers and to give them the best treatment. What a joke. They do not work with you when a person is having a mental breakdown. I have contacted them on several occasions trying to get them to settle my account. I borrowed $1,000 and have paid nearly double that $1,875! They have made a ton off of me in the high interest rates that they charge. It should be illegal to charge that much. I am asking that they consider my account settled and paid in full and close it.Business response

I am writing on behalf of Minto Financial dba Minto Money (“Minto Money”), a wholly owned economic development arm of the Native Village of Minto, a federally recognized sovereign American Indian tribe (the “Tribe”), located in Minto, Alaska, in response to the above referenced complaint. The Tribe takes these types of inquiries very seriously and we are happy to respond to your inquiry.
Minto Money is wholly owned by the Tribe, and functions as an economic arm of the Tribe. Through Minto Money the Tribe raises governmental revenues to provide services to Tribal citizens, just as other sovereign governments do with revenues they generate through taxation or other means. Tribal jurisdiction is clearly indicated on our website, and in all our documents, contracts, etc. Minto is a sovereign-owned enterprise which the Tribe closely regulates, and from which the Tribe requires consumer-protective best practices. Minto Money loans are legal under applicable Tribal law, which requires compliance with the principles of federal consumer protection laws.
The interest and fees applicable to the customer’s loan are permitted by Tribal law. A customer is free to enter contracts with choice of law provisions invoking the laws of other sovereigns, a particularly common practice in the financial services industry. The terms and conditions of the loan were clearly and accurately reflected in the loan agreement that the customer voluntarily signed before receiving the loan. The customer also received a TILA disclosure that outlined the amount and date of each payment required under the loan agreement.
Minto Money strives for excellent customer service. We recognize that many find themselves in particularly stressful and challenging life circumstances and we are not unsympathetic to the sentiments expressed by the Customer. Therefore, at our sole discretion, we will reach out to the customer with an offer to resolve their concerns.
We trust that you will find this letter of explanation satisfactory and resolves the matter.
Respectfully,
