• Advertising Review:

  On July 26, 2024, Better Business Bureau contacted Moss Boss regarding advertising claims found on their website, https://mossboss907.com/. Specifically, BBB asked Moss Boss to substantiate or modify the following claims:

   

  • “We use biodegradable and eco-friendly cleaning agents that are non-invasive.”
  • “We use non-toxic cleaning agents”
  • “Guaranteed Satisfaction”
  • “you never face the same issue again in your life.”
  • “You can avoid a plethora of costly and time-consuming problems by contacting roofing contractors like us to assess your roof at the earliest.”
  • “we are American Roofer Association Recommended, Insurance Approved, and Home Inspector Approved.”
  • BBB’s first basic principle of the code of advertising is that “the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB."

   

  BBB’s code of advertising states that a business should only advertise a satisfaction guarantee if the business refunds the full price of the product or service at the consumer’s request. Lifetime warranty claims in advertising must include the intended meaning of the term “lifetime” to clarify the parameters of the warranty.

   

  BBB’s code also states that advertisers “should not make broad, unqualified general environmental benefit claims like “green” or “eco-friendly.”
