I moved from **** **** *** *** *** ****** ***** *** *****, more than two years ago. This company provided water/sewer service. On 7/04/2020, I emailed **** ******, customer service manager to terminate my account. He agreed to do so. For 23 more months, bills for $0.00 were forwarded to me at my new addresses. 24th month brought a bill for $60.30. Subsequent communications with him and cc to the company email have been ignored and the billing continues. Please have them once and for all cancel the account, cancel amount due, cancel everything. Simple stuff, really. Former customer ** **, former PIN #****

I have reviewed the customer’s account; I do show the customer does owe a balance for about 15 days of service from the time of his last bill on 6/17/2020 to 6/30/2022 his deactivation date. However, due to the length of time since the service occurred, the customer account has been credited and he now has a zero balance.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

BUT, I reject their reasoning. The bill was paid in full, after the date given above, and I have bank notification from July 6, 2020. Furthermore,  they sent invoices by mail EVERY SINGLE MONTH for 23 months showing a balance due of 0.00.

That is, until they didnt. The idea that they are writing off an owed amount is fraudulent.

For the record. They need to stop communicating with me entirely.

    Thanks for the help,  BBB

    Sincerely,

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Re: previous complaint ********, which was SETTLED, according to the business, whether they're calling themselves Integra or Old North St Water Co. And yet, they continue to send me bill notices, and in the last month, not one, not two, but three "final" notices. Nothing has changed. For two years after I left the address they're billing for, they wasted my time and their money sending me a bill for $0.00. Only after I was gone 23 months, did they fraudulently attempt to collect more money. According to them, in response to the above previous BBB complaint, they were ending that fraudulent activity. But here we are. They have a month to cease communication with me. If they fail to do so, or attempt to get a collection agency involved, I will be reopening a case with the ************** ************************** Needless to say, they will never ever receive a cent from me. I've seen incompetent businesses in my life, but they are Hall of Fame material.

    Sincerely,

Integra Water Madison County does not service sewer or water in the ***********************.  This complaint was then forwarded to Old North State Water Company who does service this area for their response. Below is the response from Old North State Water Company:

ONSWC recently transitioned to a new billing system.Unfortunately, this account was transferred into the new system with a balance, although there should not have been a balance. The new system has an automated collections process, which is why final notices are being sent. The balance has been removed for a final time, and there will be no further requests for payment. We are sorry for the inconvenience that his has caused and we have notified the customer of our response with a letter as well.
