I hired this contractor to get my rental up to code to get power established at my rental. We did a complete walkthrough. I pointed all the things that I was aware that had to be done and he pointed all the items that needed to be performed by him before we could get the location to pass our electrical inspection. He seemed knowledgeable so we agreed on the amount. I paid him half upfront and the balance when the facility passed the inspection. He informed me that the electrical inspection was pass. So, I paid him the balance. Today, he sent me a new invoice that I have no knowledge about. Because he is the electrician that pulled the permit, he is trying to scam me by invoicing me on work he agreed on doing. Don't do business with this individual. I will be filing a complaint with the electrical board and will seeking future resolution on the matter.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/03/01) */ We are responding to Mr. ******'s complaint and are pointing out the facts he failed to mention: 1. Mr. ******'s "rental" is a small house which was in unlivable condition at the time we provided our quote for its electrical panel/service upgrades. 2. We met with Mr. ****** at his rental property to discuss the electrical work needed to comply with electrical and fire codes for the rental house. Based on this initial meeting and walk-through of the house, we submitted a detailed quote to Mr. ****** (see attachment) with our agreed scope of work. 3. We advised Mr. ****** that, in addition to the quote for the electrical service panel upgrades we provided, the replacement of several outlets inside the house along with installation of smoke detectors would be needed to bring the house up to code. Several items posed unsafe living conditions. He informed us that he planned on doing the electrical repairs inside the house himself or would be hiring a handyman to help him re-wire and upgrade these items. He was very personable in the beginning and seemed knowledgeable about the type and quality of work that needed to be done. We agreed to complete only the part of the electrical work he wanted us to do and provided our estimate based on the conditions of the items that were present during our initial walkthrough. (Note: In our state, only licensed electrical contractors or homeowners themselves are allowed to perform electrical repairs. Mr. ****** pointed out that he only wanted our company to perform the installation of new electrical panels, breakers, and attach the existing wiring. His intention was to install other items himself.) 4. Once we came to an agreement about the scope of work and related pricing, we obtained all the necessary permits from the city's building and permitting department and scheduled the work Mr. ****** wanted us to do. 5. When we arrived at Mr. ******'s rental property to begin the work, we found that new wiring had been installed that was not present at the time of the initial walkthrough. This added more work to our scope of work. In addition to the work that we quoted, there was now new wiring for a heating unit and a water heater that Mr. ****** asked us to connect to the electrical panel as well. This resulted in more time spent and more parts and materials used. 6. Once we completed our work, we issued our invoice XXXXX that was based on the initial walkthrough and issued invoice XXXXX to account for the additional work that needed to be done based on Mr. ******'s installation of additional wiring. (We had to connect the additional wiring to the panel and to the two units.) Both invoices are attached. 7. To this day, Mr. ****** only paid for invoice XXXXX and has not paid our invoice XXXXX. When we sent him reminders to pay the overdue amount, he reacted very unprofessional and claimed he never agreed to pay more money. We explained all the details of the additional work and material that was done and used. He had installed additional wiring AFTER we provided our quote but he refuses to acknowledge that this resulted in additional work and parts/materials that we had to supply. He has changed his story several times now and, while, clearly, we have done the work, he refuses to pay. Our invoice is reasonable and the work was performed fast. We have invested a substantial amount of our money in parts and materials for this job. By no means can he complain about the quality of our work or the invoiced amount. 8. It should be noted that Mr. ****** admitted to us that he wanted to find a handyman who would install additional electrical items at a cheaper rate. His personable and convincing demeanor that he displayed in the beginning turned out to be a ploy to get us to provide the permits and handle the electrical inspections under our license while he planned on hiring cheap labor to do electrical repairs and upgrades under our permit. 9. We do not take any responsibility for electrical repairs that were done at Mr. ******'s rental property as he hired unlicensed workers to perform electrical repairs and is ignoring rules and guidelines that were put in place by his local municipality. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/03/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This business try to take advantage of the job. The city of Prichard find the business to try to back date and bill me an invoice on job they did not performed. Do not do business with this guy he is dishonest and a crook. I have also filed several complaints with the electrical Board on this electrician. Don't Use This Guy! Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2022/03/28) */ ***Document Attached*** We are submitting documentation of previous conversations that we had with Mr. ******. The attached images show three screenshots of text messages that we exchanged with Mr. ****** on July 17. and July 19, 2021. We emailed him our estimate for work and followed up with him via text message. He responded that he picked up material and would do the work himself. We are waiting for payment for our invoice #368 so that we can close Mr. ******'s account. Our part of the electrical work has been ready for inspection but we exclude any responsibility for electrical work done by the owner or third parties. Consumer Response /* (4200, 21, 2022/03/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) A complaint is being filed with electrical board. They will be conducting the unethical practice of this company. Buyer beware of this company and individual.
