    We bought and moved into our brand new Winston home over 2.5 years ago. It took them 2 years to finally send a contractor out to inspect for final inspection- When the contractor finally came out he told us our roof had not been joined together right, he told us we did not have any of the correct cabinet doors/drawers, our back door is not the back door that should have come with the house and weve had holes in the vinyl flooring since a couple months after we moved in. The contractor seemed nice and ordered a ton of things to be done. He blamed the dealership for some of the issues, but assured us they would deal with it even though it had been more than a year (the time frame in which inspections are supposed to be done) He told us it was their fault it took so long and they would make it right- That contractor has since ghosted us. We have not been able to get in touch with anyone about all the work that needed to be done and the things he ordered. That was 6 months ago now. WINSTON HOMES DOES NOT DO AS THEY STATE WHEN PURCHASING A HOME BUILT BY THEM. They promise to inspect and repair within the first year, it took TWO YEARS for someone to come out- and now we cannot reach anyone. We are now assuming all the things the contractor ordered and said needed to be done, will not ever get done, and that they have no intention of doing so. We paid a lot of money for this house on all the promises of quality and customer service and we regret it 1000 percent. We should have gone with a different builder. I have friends who went with *********** and some that went with ************** and they have had smooth inspections/repairs, all of that and it all happened within the first year. Now we are 2.5 years out with a ton of issues and parts that dont even go in this house, holes in the vinyl flooring and no way to get in touch with anyone or get things repaired. Anyone reading this needs to take this seriously and go anywhere other than Winston.

    I am rejecting this response because: it is not enough resolution to close out the case. I have spoken with the company and I am compiling a list of all of the things that have not been done or addressed and will wait to hear from them on what they will be willing to fix from that list. Their records for whatever reason did not show the last contractor who came out here which is slightly concerning because that contractor is the one who told us all the things that were wrong that we werent even aware of (wrong drawers in the kitchen, wrong door on the back door, wrong ridge cap etc) Anyhow, communication so far has been ok with the manager of the service department but we have not reached a satisfactory resolution yet. TBD

    Winston has said they will send out a crew for all of the work that needs to be done, but we have been told that before. I am hopeful that they are going to actually follow through this time based on my conversation, but I do not want to accept this response as it stands now, and close the case until someone actually comes out to do all the work that has needed to be done for so long. Just given the history of plans for someone to come that have never actually come to fruition. Or the people they have sent out who were supposed to come back to do the work but never did. Its been almost 2 years that weve been waiting on some of this to be done. As a result, Im just trying to be smart about this process and do my best to ensure the work actually gets done before accepting the settlement.

He is going to try to get the correct parts and get the work order he created approved and says he will come back to do the work. Since this has happened before and theyve never come back to do the work-we will wait until the work is actually done before accepting the solution. Hopefully they are actually going to come back this time and do the work.

    Unfortunately, there is much work to be done besides just the materials we are waiting on. They sent a crew out that put the wrong size door in that now blocks our kitchen cabinets on that side, they only partially repaired our drawers so they do not fit properly, in fact we currently have no operational drawers in our kitchen, they also installed a new section of cabinetry for the kitchen sink (since the original installers did not caulk it and there was significant water damage), however, they did not hook the sink back up correctly so the sink is leaking and ruining the new cabinetry, so we have had to turn the water off to our sink while we wait on them. Basically, our kitchen is completely non functional currently in our house with 6 children. I have tried contacting the contractor about them leaving without finishing the drawers and leaving our kitchen as a disaster zone, but he has not responded. There ARE two contacts at the company who DID reply and who have asked us to wait until they can get someone out to fix it and install the parts they have ordered. They are responsive currently, so we are hoping this continues moving forward. Currently, we are worse off than when they sent the crew out to begin with. We have had some success communicating with ***** and are still trying to remain hopeful that they are going to resolve all this. Stay tuned. Im attaching pictures in order to better document this journey in hopes that others will either see this company as either one to steer clear of, or one that works hard to resolve things when mistakes have been made. Mistakes happen sometimes...we will see. My prayer is truly for this to all be resolved asap considering its been 2.5 years now. Will update as more work is done.

    We did speak on the phone today, but when the crew left today they were only maybe 40% done. Originally they were going to finish Sunday. Unfortunately, Saturday when they were supposed to work all day- they gave us a time window of 8-10am for arrival. We have a family of 8 we had to shuffle around for the whole weekend. That window then changed to *****pm. Then they said 2pm, then they actually came around 2:15 and literally just dropped of parts on our porch and said it was then too late in the day to start any work so they left. As a result, they then said they would finish Monday. We had to cancel some doctor appointments on Monday to be at the house for them to work, but they still were not able to finish Monday, so now we have rearranged our shceudle for them to come out Tuesday as well. I am doubtful they will finish Tuesday. We DO NOT WANT TO RUSH THEM. So, the issue isn't that the job is taking a while. We have exercised a lot of patience seeing as how February is 3 years since we moved in. The issue is that we spent our whole Saturday waiting for them to come only to have them finally come to just to tell us they wouldn't have time to do any work and drop parts on our porch.  We also are not in agreement over the warranty issues. There have been problems with the carpet from the first day we moved in. There was, at minimum, a 1" gap between the carpet and the door/wall in every doorway of this house. At all of those gaps, there was also not any kid of tack strip or anything installed to hold the carpet down to the sub flooring. The carpet is literally just floating at all seems and doorway jams. Unfortunately they are claiming that carpet is not a warranty item. They are saying there is animal damage. However, I was able to show them a video of how the carpet has been since day 1, before any cat touched any of the fraying that was left from the high gaps between the carpet and doors. I attempted to attach that video here so it is evident to all, that what they are claiming is not a warranty item due to animal damage, has nothing to do with animal damage. However, BBB does not seem to allow video files to attach so I'm going to attach photos to document what all of the carpet looked like in the house from the first day we moved in. BEFORE any cats played with the frayed carpet that was exposed as a result of the carpet never being finished. The other issue here is also that we have been going through this process for almost 3 years now, and that ENTIRE time we have been bringing up the issue with the carpet, yet not a single person told us until this past FRIDAY that the carpet would not be covered. In fact, quite the opposite occurred. Everyone that came out to our house from the dealer told us the carpet was an issue and needed to be addressed. Then when the manufacturer finally sent their guys out over 2 years after we moved in, their guys said the same thing. THEN, even after I filed this complaint the carpet was still discussed, and it was discussed in a way that lead us to believe it would be replaced. Today, when we spoke to the gentleman handling the repairs, he told us they would just do the best they could with what was already at the house as a courtesy. When we told him the contractors that were here today said there wasn't much they could do with it, he asked if once they were done with all the work, we would discuss if there was anything they could do for the carpet. We said sure, but given the way things have gone up until this point it's hard not to wonder if this is just the can getting kicked further down the road while they are trying to find a way out of fixing what should have been fixed from the very very beginning. We will update after we talk with them again and see if they changed their stance after seeing the video. I wish I could upload the video here, but I feel the pictures still show what ALL DOORS in this house were like when we moved in. Will continue to update for all future home buyers. As we are negotiating and as repairs are being made. Thank you

    We've had issue from day one of moving in .. Winston home shottie work is mostly stuff that is hidden work. Floors have seams to move noticeably. They say they fixed it but still moves. Badly bowed exterior wall. Sub floor nails not even hitting floor joices. Over 200 pictures emailed to winston homes they say work is acceptable.

    We bought our Winston ****** mobile home back in May 2023, the trailer was delivered to us late June 2023. We have quite a few cosmetic issues, cracks in ceiling, paint peeling from trim pieces, s**** holes in one of the guest bedroom closet, Leaking storm doors. I have made numerous attempts to Winston homebuilders to come and repair our home while its still under warranty. They will not return my calls. When I do get to speak to someone, they cant even give me an ETA for a contractor. This is starting to get ridiculous. Its December 2023 and not getting any help from Winston homebuilders.

    Literally had no answers from factory after 6 months of last visit from them witch was horrible finally comming Monday. We are almost a year here . $560 later from their electrical mess (when they did come last year) up out of my pocket lights still flicker they believe the trailor the brand new trailor has a short in the electrical And Will Need to be tended too . This is Crazy ! My house is nice but not worth what was paid. You get half the satisfaction out of the disappointments. I want to be refunded for money out , for the instant issues with children electrical being out, for the paint and my kids Med -Cracks everywheres not fixed on walls -Paint different colors everywheres - trim not caulked nor painted - wood beams have paint all over them that cant be removed - shoe molding still not completely attached - two totally different textures on walls esp hallways - lights flickering and or surging $What they caused last visit to FIX everything In witch they didnt !!!- paint on window shams from last people who come - paint on floors from them also - No molding done -bedrooms and areas painted were painted with Exterior Paint! Yes Exterior and a totally different color. Way Darker ! -all the kids were sick had to go to dr and leave the house due to the paint nope still didnt realize it was from the Outdoor paint they used. - white patches left not painted - oh did I say Paint on my Ceilings? Like strings all over ? They were by far painters that come out. -I had paint on a child car seat paint on my kitchen chair curtains both sets, my Tv - Paint on my white unpainted molding also I could keep going Literally Over This ! Not bashing who I bought it from but this Winston Company is just ridiculous! Went and bought some paint and will be painting myself with the correct paint ?? very soon . Unless they are bringing a pro painting crew I dont want them in my house . They endangered my familys health. Caused a huge mess, and fixed Nothing!

    I am rejecting this response because: The NEW Electrical Issue was brought up Sunday 1 day before, but the appointment was prescheduled on Tuesday January 17th.  This should not have stopped them from comming to fix previous issues we had scheduled for. I did say no electrical could be fixed due to power being cut off and him having copd and a tank. It took from October 30-Jan 20 to even be acknowledged if issues and for them to set the appointment. There is no reason this appointment should have been canceled other things could have been fixed. No way they would have had this all done within 1/2 days' time. they weren't set to get to my house until 11 AM.  I want a representative over the company to contact me personally to discuss this matter. I don't even have the list they are comming to fix. I have no clue what needs to be prepared as he said we weren't prepared. He never told me things to do, things to have done, nor what they will be fixing. Refuses to let me know ahead of time so how would I have things ready for him for his next visit? Did he tell me power was going to be shut off? NO did he tell me what needed to be done for him to do his part when comming? NO, Do I work? YES, do I have a whole day to sit and walk him around absolutely not. I want someone to call immediately so we can discuss it properly.************. I WANT to discuss problems BEFORE arrival, so they have EVERYTHING on hand to fix them.

    We purchased a home in 2020 that was not delivered until 2021. We submitted our list of things we needed repaired including electrical work that was not run correctly. The outlets to this day do not work. It was MONTHS before they attempted to send anyone out to repair our home. The first guy they tried to send was an unlicensed, convicted felon who was giving us the run around by not showing up. My wife and I kept taking off work so he could come repair our home, but he would no call/no show or give some elaborate story about how his tools were stolen the night before. We demanded another contractor. The next guy came and lolly gagged around and didnt repair much. He said he couldnt fix the electrical because the wall was going to have to be torn out because the electrical prints arent matching what he was seeing. He said he would come back after talking to Winston and would bring our blinds (our home was delivered with 2 sets of blinds that were too small. We were told that they did that so they could just get it delivered.) Fast forward to MONTHS later and the guy still had not returned and we had heard nothing else for Winston. After numerous complaints, we finally got a someone else to come out. This person still didnt fix the flooring, the electrical, or bring the blinds. He said he would be back. CRICKETS. Fast forward months later to the end of 2022, and we were told we are out of our warranty period, yet they still never fixed anything that was reported from 2021! We were also told that them looking at the electrical issue was just a courtesy! Still no blinds, still no floor repair, still no working electrical in my sons room.

    We purchased a custom built home from Winston Home Builders in *******.We have had 5 sets of contractors come out through the trim out and set up process of the home.After the home setting there for roughly 2 months the trim out started to take place.When I arrived to the address above,walking into front door I noticed the underbelly of insulation sagging.I crawled underneath because no under pinning was done yet.Outside edge of home had ***** gallon of water gathered and was dripping.I myself cut a slit like 12 long and drained off.Told the contractors that was onsite at time of my findings.He informed me that the drain pipe coming from the shower/tub combo.The had drilled a bolt through pipe that was 3/8 diameter and the flooring had soaked up a lot by then.Front half of the home need inspection for mold and flooring repaired.

    We ordered a helicon 2.0 from regional homes in *********** in November 2021. Our home was finally delivered in may 2022. Ever since we made the purchase it has been nothing but problems. Major problems that the company will send out unlicensed contractors and two of them made things worse, one left an unfinished wall and never came back that was 4 months ago. They keep changing things up just not fixing all the issues with out house. The flooring is ruined, all cabinets and drawers are cheap and falling apart, there are pieces of vinyl siding broke and damaged, even things that we not done by the order. The list goes on and on. I would like for someone to come and fix these issues, my husband and are fed up with the games and want our home that we purchased in used poor condition to be what we expected and paid for a new home. We are even willing to hire our own contractors to fix these issues if the company will reimburse.

    DO NOT ever waste your money with this company. Weve had problems since they delivered our house, more than half our issues were never fixed. Company told us we needed to contact manufacturer, manufacturer said we needed to contact company we bought from. Weve ********* in the walls, no door frame is completely square and half our doors dont even shut. Paint colors were wrong, lights above island were two different lengths, our AC freezes up every few months, faucets leak, molding is coming apart, floors are raising up, company that did come out cut our floors all up to fix the issues and glued them back together. Biggest mistake was giving these people our money and having to live in this house. We have wiring issues, half the outlets in the kitchen dont have power and we cant get it figured out, lights in the bathroom flicker, I could honestly spend hours going through all the issues. Nobody has called us back, nobody has cared to even try to fix a single issue.

    My husband and I purchased a 2022 Addison 2.0. Within three days of the home being set we were able to move in. Lots of cosmetic issues still needed to be fixed and we were told by the dealership that they would be out to fix every cosmetic detail that had to be fixed. There are still numerous cracks in the sheet rock, toe trims that are still needing repaired, crown molding that is wavy, trim falling off the walls. Within a month of being in the home we had five water leaks ranging from the master bathroom all the way to the kitchen. Within the last 3 to 4 months we have started experiencing mold growth in our dining room area. We contacted the dealership who we purchased a home from the manufacturer who sent a crew to repair the mold. They took down the old crown molding sprayed some mold killer on the sheet rock cleaned it up put a new piece of trim on the walls and within a week after they left the mold has came back through and not only is it in our dining room it’s now in our living room it’s in our kitchen it’s around our door frames it is growing rapidly. There is never any condensation around any vents we can’t find any leaks in the roof for this to be happening other than maybe it was not sealed properly. We have tried contacting both manufacturer and dealership more times than I can count without getting a response. The floors are buckling throughout the entire home and in some areas feel worse than others.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    The issue is still being resolved. There was actively growing mold found throughout the entire house today. We are told it’s only on the surface but it behind the sheet rock and will provide pictures to prove it.
