On Oct. 4, I ordered countertop replacements and paid $1609.50 as a deposit the balance of $1739.50 to be paid on installation which I did pay. Installation was to involve tear out of old countertops and sinks, installing new sinks with existing faucets on both bathroom and kitchen counters. Although the company was able to disconnect the plumbing from the faucets, they said they were unable to reconnect as they were not plumbers but it shouldn't cost more than a couple of hundred dollars. Well, one broken kitchen faucet and $932 later ($200 for new faucet for kitchen because they broke the existing one on the reinstall and $ 732 for the plumbers) I feel misled by this company. They also tore out my kitchen backsplash to the point that it is costing me another $1200 to have that dry wall repaired and tile reinstalled. I could have done that myself. So this company really misleads the public. They advertise for 45 sf of counter for $1999 and I chose a counter that was $2 more per square foot and went over the allotted sf by 2 square feet. So why is this venture costing me $5481? That doesn't include the cost of the new tile, which I expected. This feels like theft and massive under-estimation of actual costs.
