    On March 21st and March 26th my father presented to ******** Automotive Dealer ******* of Montgomery with an issue. His vehicles lift gate was not working properly. He went in on the 21st to have it looked at and checked, but was treated and met with extremely rude customer service. They informed him they had no record of him buying this vehicle and wrote the service ticket up under his previous vehicle. I contacted the dealership and was instructed to have him bring the vehicle back in on March 26th at 8am. He did, there he was met again with 4 hours of waiting, no solution and a well we will order the parts, yet we dont know when they will be in or if your warranty will cover this. Mind you we have been told that this vehicle had be associated with another individual. At this point we dont know if my fathers warranty that he purchased has been used to repair someone elses vehicle because they wont let us call the warranty company to ask if this is a covered part etc. the dealership has just told us the price of the parts, but yet has not informed my father if the lift gate can even been used. This is my familys only means of transportation, how are they supposed to put groceries or other things in their vehicle. On top of that they are disabled seniors and have a fixed income. My father has been taken advantage of, talked down to and mistreated to the point this is senior citizen abuse.

    I see a trend in these complaints -- they involve this business not doing warranty repairs in a timely manner, and not providing loaner vehicles for special circumstances. My complaint is nearly identical. My car cut off in the middle of a busy I-65. Anyone traveling on a busy interstate knows how scary that can be. I had it towed to an independent shop where I was told the engine failed and needed to be replaced. I went to the Hyundai service department and was told the repair might be covered by an extended warranty program. Apprently there was a class action suit involving engine failures on this type of car. Hyundai Manufacturing of America agreed to repair or replace the affected engines though its dealerships and provide alternative transportation and/or reimbursement for expenses. I had the car towed to Montgomery Hyundai in November. As of 12/21/23, they haven't even completed the diagnostic to confirm the vehicle is covered by the extended warranty. They have not provided a loaner. They say it will be late January before they can get to it. January? Really? I have reported my concerns directly to HMA and NHTSA. The thing that makes me mad is the poor customer service. The independent shop I took it to back in November said they could replace the engine in 3 days --- including the shipping time for the new engine! I believe Montgomery Hyundai has bigger problems than poor customer service on warranty work and loaner cars. I'm just not sure what the causes of those problems really are, or how they can fix them. People and process changes might help, but something clearly needs to be done for them to be a better business.
