We are Waters Edge Counseling, providing mental health services in the Northwest Arkansas area. Despite assurances from some representatives that our issue was resolved, Ambetter of Arkansas has not addressed the problem. Due to errors or omissions by their credentialing department, our patients are being billed significantly more than initially quoted. This has caused undue stress, leading some clients to discontinue services because they cannot afford the increased costs, which negatively impacts their treatment. While the No Surprises Act offers some protection, it is not in the best interest of our patients to experience such stress due to the mishandling by their health insurance company. Please address this matter urgently.Business Response

In late December, 2024, I noticed a charge for 495.01 on my debit card from Ambetter Health. I wasn't even aware I still had Ambetter Health since I had not renewed my healthcare through Healthcare.gov. I called Ambetter on December 31. I was on the phone with them for 1 hr. 47 minutes. It was during that time that they told me my policy had automatically renewed, which I knew nothing about. I told them to stop the automatic payments from my checking account, and not to take anything further out of my account. They told me they would refund the amount of 495.01 to me and it would take 7 to 10 business days to receive my refund. It is Jan. 15, I have not received my refund. This is not the first time Ambetter has taken money out of my account without my knowledge!! Please help me find out what is going on. I desperately need my money backBusiness Response

I am an enrolled member of Ambetter Arkansas along with my wife. Our account is up to date. My wife is ill and Ambetter has denied diagnostic test ordered by her doctor. They have resubmitted the request with no response. When I try to call the customer service number on the back of my insurance card/the only number available that I can find, I only get ads for other services that I don't want. I can't connect with Ambetter. The only person I could talk to would not put me through to the actual Ambetter site without a credit card number for their promotion. When I refused I was disconnected. I have made multiple calls and they are all disconnected when I don't select any of the ads to try to get through first. My premium is paid and I cannot connect to my insurance while my wife suffers in pain because they refuse diagnostic procedures to diagnose a change in her condition. This is false advertising and refusal of services! Ambetter should not be rated A.Business Response

There are 2 issues. First is with the shady way they do the challenges. On the 24th of May 2024.the made a new challenge available to me. The Issue is the challnege wants you to track 60 days. in order to finish the challenge. However the challenge ends on the 4th of june. This is an impossible task. I feel it is very shady practice. the second. on the 27 of march 2024 i completed the wellness interview. I was promised 250 usd..not points.. Dollars. It has been over 2 months and nothing has been sent to either my home.. or my wellness rewards. I would like my 250 us dollars that was promised.Business Response

The Ambetter My Health Pays Rewards Program is dishonest and fraudulent. I wasted hours of my time completing activities and on a video call with a doctor I've never met who asked tons of questions. I wasn't comfortable talking to her but I had received dozens of calls and emails promising a $200 reward just for doing the video call. Never in any of the emails or calls was I told that I could lose that $200 for any reason. The state of Arkansas changed my coverage from Ambetter to ******** before I even got the rewards card in the mail (it took several weeks). When I called the automated number, it showed the card had $200 on it. But at the store, it said it was invalid. I again wasted my time on hold and on two seperate phone calls trying to figure out the problem. I was finally informed that since my coverage was terminated (due to no fault of my own), I no longer had access to the $200. I filed a greivence but just got a letter stating the same. I did everything they asked to earn that reward. Their policy of taking it back is dishonest and fraudulent. It took so long to get the card in the mail that my insurance had changed before I even got the card. I never would have wasted my time trying to earn the $200 if I'd known it could be taken away through no fault of my own. That $200 was going to be used for groceries. Again, they did not inform me of the possibility of losing the reward for any reason in the many emails or phone calls offering the $200. Horrible policy.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because the policy on taking back rewards that were earned (due to any reason) is wrong. Ambetter puts profit above people. And they don't inform their members of the policy when spamming them with repeated attempts to get them to spend their time earning the rewards. They go back on promises.
Sincerely,
***** ********Business Response

I am a contracted provider with Ambetter insurance company. I noticed in January 2024 that all of my payments from 2022 and 2023 had been mailed to an incorrect address. I did a change of address, as directed by an Ambetter representative, and got confirmation that the address was correctly updated on February 19, 2024. Since then I have been given the run around about how to get my checks re-issued and sent to the correct address. I was told on the phone to go online and submit every check number and amount that we are missing; however, when I did this I got a response that said "too many claims, please contact your area representative". I cannot get anyone on the phone to tell me who my representative is, nor can they give me a name or number of a supervisor to speak with. In addition, I got notice of a new claim today and saw where it was, again, sent to the same wrong address (the incorrect address is in an entirely different city where I have never practiced). I don't know what else to do at this point to get my checks re-issued and sent to the correct address.Business Response

I had to pay for the FULL PREMIUM DEDUCTIBLE FOR JANUARY 2024 before they would reactivate my health insurance I get a rebate from the government so my premium should only be 23.90 a month my new plan didn't start until February 1st ,2024 but they still made me pay for January and for the full amount of premium. they discontinued my health plan and they would not after me calling saying I did not have health insurance in January 2024 - my plan did activate (renew) - until Feb 2024 its simply unfair it rolled over itself and made me pay over 500 dollar premium. knowing full well I can't afford that that's why i get a break from NH healthy families after hours on the phone trying to discuss this with them.Business Response

I was enrolled in ambetter health insurance and I signed up for ambetter my health rewards. I did some tasks that I was to receive rewards for and I chose to take my rewards in the form of their prepaid debit card. They were to mail me a prepaid debit card loaded with $50.00. Shortly after, my insurance got switch to something other than ambetter. When I received my card in the mail inactivated it and tried to use it and it wouldn’t work. I called the help desk and was told it’s because my insurance got changed. I don’t think this is fair being that I was actively enrolled when I did the tasks and earned the reward.Business Response
