I've had nothing but good experiences with Bert Black. Fair pricing for the quality of work. I can't recommend them enough.

First, I had a plumbing job which consisted of replacing two toilets, repairing a flange and unclogging a sink. I was charged $5,000, and I have since requested that the company do an audit of the charges since they seem extreme. I've had no respose to my request. Second, I had a whole house generator installed by this company and the process was a fiasco from the beginning. The biggest problem was the plumber didn't know anything about installing a generator. The electrician had told me the generator could go anywhere but the plumber later said it couln't. Then I found out later it could have gone anywhere, but now it's on the side of my house and is unsightly. The workers showed up the first day without the generator because it had been delayed in shipping. They came back i a few days with the unit, but then put it in the middle of my yard and not up next to the house. I had them move it, so that created another day of work for them, which created aother day I had to be home to oversee. Company tried to reschedule remaining plumbing work because of rain. I could not find any info on their website on how to contact their COO so I had to join an online search program to find an email address. I've emailed the COO three times and haven't receive a response. Plumber installed a different flex line than what came with the unit. Plumber tried to convince propane people to drop the tank and let him hook it all up (which they cannot legally do). I found out this company's contracor license expired last May, so they have been operating almost a year without a license. I was charged the full contract amount for the generator, despite all of the problems i had (and there were many more problems than what I am including here). This company is overpriced and underqualified. Consumer beware!

I've responded to Ms Freer directly, so it won't matter how I respond here, but I will anyway. We take full responsibility for the how the project went. We do hundreds of these each year and the vast majority are a 5* experience. We had some internal communication issues that weren't malicious and our staff thought they were better serving the customer, but didn't see the bigger picture of the project. The manufacturer had a delay in shipping that also contributed to an already poor project. Her complaints about communication with our leadership team were unwarranted. Her having to find an email online is simply because she didn't ask anyone in our customer care or field staff team. We finally got the project finished, way over time and budget. However, we stayed on it until it was complete.

I had to have electrical work as well as plumbing work done on my house because of a fire. The technicians (Harvey ****- electrician and Josh ******-plumber) are better than the actual company. They don't even wait 30 days before being VERY aggressive with implications of payment right when they call you over the phone [Clay last name unknown). The conversations seems VERY threating in sending the account to collections because he [Clay] reminds you of all work done with out the work ACTUALLY being done. I think that if the technicians left the company they would go out of business. The plumber still had my water heater in his van when the calls started. They do not wait for any claim through insurance to be completed for payment. They want you to say (on a recorded phone call) when you will be able to issue payment to them so, in my belief, they would able to bring lawsuit against you on that date. NO COMPASSION. NO WILLINGNESS TO WORK WITH ANY INSURANCE

I bought my house in Little Rock about 14 months ago. I immediately had Bert Black (Adam) come to perform a service on my air conditioning system. After the initial service visit, I signed a service contract which provided me with two services in the next 12 months. Both services were performed by the company as agreed. In July, 2022, my air conditioning failed because of proper cleaning and maintenance. I carefully observed all 3 service visits. The company did not remove the top of the system and clean the coils, the fan motor or the fan. The lack of proper cleaning resulted in failure to remove humidity from the home. My last service visit from Bert Black was in April, 2022. Three (3) months after the last visit, I now have a severe mold problem in my home -- and a $12,000.00 bill to remove the mold and perform and complete home cleaning. I employed a professional building scientist and a professional mold and water removal company. They along with a different air conditioning company verified that Bert Black had failed to properly maintain my system. I called the Bert Black office to speak to the manager/owner/CEO, but unfortunately reached Judy, the office manager, who refused to allow me to speak to someone in charge. She also refused to give me her full name. I requested that I receive a refund for next year's service contract -- as I do not plan to use their services. She refused to refund the contract charge even though they had not provided services under the contract. Bert Black clearly performs substandard work and the quality of their AC maintenance is totally unacceptable. I advise all to go elsewhere for air conditioning installation and maintenance. This has been a very costly and unfortunate experience.
