I reviewed my Consumer Reports and noticed that there was an inaccurate account(s) on my credit report FIRST COLLECTION SVCS ACCOUNT NAME: ACCT#******* Consumer Reporting Agencies have assumed a vital role and have a responsibility to report Consumer information to the best of their ability with maximum accuracy. I contacted FIRST COLLECTION SVCS and asked for them to investigate & remove the inaccurate account from my consumer report that they are illegally reporting and I requested specifically the alleged original application bearing my signature and they have not been able to provide such proof to me. This is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and these disputed items may not appear on my credit report if they can't be verified by any evidence or proof.

First Collection Services ("FCS") has received the BBB complaint #******** filed by ***** ***.  The referenced delinquent account was placed in collections by the creditor in 2016 for nonpayment on services rendered and consumed.  The account is in the name ***** Lee.
FCS has received the submitted cease and desist, and FCS will cease collection activity. The POA has been updated on the account.
It is the policy of First Collection Services (FCS) to report accurate information to credit bureaus/credit reporting agencies as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. FCS did update the credit bureaus to reflect the proper status and balance of the account, but no information has been reported on this account since September 2022.  FCS has no control over how long it takes the credit reporting agencies to update their records.
First Collection Services is a debt collector.  This is an attempt to collect a debt, and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.
Based on the above, First Collection Services considers this matter closed.

First Collection Services (FCS) is in receipt of the complaint submitted by this consumer stating difficulty paying the account by website.  The consumer called our office on 5/10/23 and paid the account in full by bankcard over the phone.  Barring any return on the payment submitted, the account is currently paid in full with a zero balance.  It is the policy of First Collection Services (FCS) to report accurate information to credit bureaus as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. FCS did update the credit bureaus to reflect the proper status and balance of the account, but since the information reported by FCS relating to this account was accurate, we do not intend to request that the credit bureaus delete the account. They have been updated that the account balance is now zero.  FCS has no control over how long it takes the credit reporting agencies to update their records with the information provided to them.

First service collection agency has been putting a collection on my credit for over three years, There is a zero balance and the account was never in collection with them, I paid this bill directly to Conway corp. They are constantly trying to damage my credit by reporting a paid bill! It has been disputed and removed 6 times. After showing proof that the bill was paid, they actually went in and changed the date. That they first reported it. But regardless the bill was never paid to them! They have no right to report a collections on a bill that was never in collections! I want this removed from my credit once and for all!

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/04/20) */ Please redact individual and company names prior to publishing information regarding this complaint. Our client, Conway Corp, assigned ***** *******' delinquent account to First Collection Services (FCS) for collections 8-5-2019. FCS mailed a total of seven written collection notices to the consumer, including notice of derogatory credit reporting. FCS also made phone attempts to resolve the account. After receiving no response from the consumer, no mail returned as undeliverable, and no national change of address (NCOA) notification from USPS, FCS began reporting the collections account to the three major credit bureaus on/about 1-26-2020. A new address was then obtained, and another notice was mailed to the consumer. Our client then reported to us on/about X-XX-XXXX that the account had been paid in full. FCS updated our records to reflect the information provided by Conway Corp so the account balance is now zero, and the status is Paid In Full. FCS notified the credit reporting agencies of the updated balance and status of the account in our regular file on or about 2-16-20. FCS does not have access to make direct changes to the Credit reporting agency systems, and FCS has no control over if or how long it takes for the credit reporting agencies to update their records with the information FCS provides to them. Since providing our regular file to the credit bureaus with the updated balance and status of the collection account, FCS has processed no less than six disputes received on this account through the credit bureaus. The consumer claims FCS has been reporting on her credit for over three years. FCS denies this allegation. FCS has credit reported this collection item since January 2020, which is just over two years. The consumer claims the account was never in collection with FCS. FCS denies this allegation. The account was placed in collections in August 2019. In fact, the consumer called into our office 2-13-2020 stating she didn't want to receive any more calls or correspondence from FCS, demonstrating her knowledge of the collection placement. The consumer claims that the bill was paid directly to Conway Corp, and FCS is reporting a "paid bill." Further, the consumer states this has been disputed and removed 6 times. FCS acknowledges the account payment was made directly to Conway Corp, as Conway Corp provided the payment information to us. FCS acknowledges reporting to the credit bureaus that the collection item has in fact been paid, as that is accurate. FCS acknowledges six disputes received through the credit bureaus. However, FCS denies ever requesting the trade line be deleted. If the item was ever deleted from credit reporting, FCS had no control over that occurrence. The consumer demands removal "from my credit once and for all!" It is the policy of FCS to report accurate information to credit bureaus as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. FCS did update the credit bureaus to reflect the proper status and balance of the account, but since the information reported by FCS relating to this account was accurate, we do not intend to request that the credit bureaus delete the account. Respectfully submitted, ****** ****** Sr. Director - Compliance Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/04/21) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I just want this removed, when this was removed back in November of 2020 I sent proof to the credit agency of the account that said case opened November 2020, so I showed them proof that there was NO reason to be putting a paid account on my credit, just to make me look bad because why else would you do it? This was Conway corps mistake because I had sent them a check for full payment. As soon as I found out I had a balance, previouslyI was told I had zero balance. I never received any collection letters. Now I am hearing May 2019 (which is odd because I didn't move until June 2019) is when they opened the collection before that it was November 2020 then recently Nov 2019, it keeps changing. This was removed from my credit reports except Experian, so I called and asked why this was happening since this is clearly a misunderstanding, I called the collections and was told they would remove it as a goodwill effort, yet here it is again. That is why I filed the complaint. Because Conway corp had my correct address and phone number, but yet the collection agency never sent me one letter to my address, not one. Conway corp never sent me one bill asking for the money! I only found out when I called to get a copy of an old bill to show I had a paid service for over a year. It is not fair companies can screw up someones bill then blame them for it, yet when its paid you are still penalized. I have very good credit and always pay my bills, why would I just decide to not pay a bill, so my credit could be dinged! Its not right, all I want is this removed because I did not mess the bill up Conway corp did. Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/04/22) */ Unfortunately, First Collection Services (FCS) has once again been misquoted by a very sophisticated consumer. The initial response FCS submitted stated that our client placed the delinquent account for collections 8-5-19 (not in May as the consumer is now claiming). Further, we stated we mailed 7 letters to the consumer. None of these letters were returned as undeliverable for any reason whatsoever, so they can be assumed to have been received. During the one phone call FCS had with this consumer, she stated she received our "letter saying she still owes money." Clearly, the consumer did in fact receive our mail to her. After payment was made on the account, FCS updated the credit reporting agencies with the new balance and status of the account. It is the policy of FCS to report accurate information to the Credit Reporting Agencies according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and since FCS did update the status and balance of the account accurately, we do not intend to remove the paid collection item from the consumer's credit report. FCS considers this matter closed. Respectfully submitted, ****** ****** Sr. Director - Compliance Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2022/04/25) */ Conway Corp has confirmed once again that the account placement with First Collection Services (FCS) was not in error. The account was "finaled" in their system 6/20/2019 before placement as a collections account with FCS. The balance on the consumer's final billing was $210.06, which is the same amount placed with FCS. The consumer paid it off on February 10, 2020. Conway Corp promptly notified FCS of the payment, which was updated in our system the next day, Feb 11, 2020, and FCS then updated the credit reporting agencies of the 0.00 balance and Paid collections status of the account. Again, since the balance and status of the account were reported accurately, FCS does not intend to remove the item from credit reporting. FCS considers this matter closed. Respectfully, ****** ****** Sr. Director-Compliance Consumer Response /* (3000, 17, 2022/04/25) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I think the point has been made along with every one star review of this company. I NEVER acknowledged receiving anything from this company the only call was the one I made to ask them to remove this from my credit, as it had already been paid and I had no idea it had ever even gone to collections, as a military member they told me they would remove it in good faith due to the mix up with Conway corp (they didn't cash the check they received in June) I never asked for them to stop calling, as I had never received any calls from them. It is pretty sad that you put paid accounts on someones credit, when a bill is paid its paid! The first I ever heard of this was in November of 2020 not August, not February. I did not call until after I disputed it on my credit, because it said Nov 2020 date of collection, not August 2019 Had it said that I would have thought oh wow this is over me not knowing this wasn't paid! So I thought Conway corp had sent a paid bill to collections, so I disputed it I have screenshot the date showing the credit bureau it was past the paid date and they removed it. So when it showed up again with a new start date, that is why I made this complaint! I know why you did it, the point is the dates were wrong and I was clueless it was ever in collections. The bill is paid, and you never had to collect anything! Fact!
