On December 6, 2024 I paid Sander Plumbing 50% ($1,850) for the job, and they told me it would take two days to complete.  The scheduled work days were Friday, December 14, and Monday, December 16. Early Tuesday morning (17th) I received a voicemail saying the inspector requested backflow valves, but everything else was ready for inspection. Later that day, I went to city hall and spoke with ***** *******, then ***** who both said I could pass the inspection without the backflow valves until the water meter was installed. I explained this to **** and ***** they assure me they would send someone to meet the inspector. However, when the inspector arrived, there was no one to speak with, and the job wasn't even finished. Since then, there's been a lot of back and forth, and it's been very difficult to get a response from them. After several weeks of no progress, I told them the job wasn't done, and we agreed they would reimburse me. I went to pick up the check as promised by ***** but when I received it, the amount was only $200. I rejected the check because It was not the amount I paid as a down payment.

We were contracted by ********** ****** to run four water service lines to his project.  Per his request, we ran the water lines and have diligently tried to help him walk through the state mandated process.  Mr. Musiko is 100% confused and does not understand what is required of him.
Currently his project is in the beginning slab phase and he is now two years into this project.  During this time, he has been through two plumbing contractors.
According to the City of North Little Rock, the plans Mr. Musiko submitted to the city originally had 12-14 units; these plans were approved by zoning committee of the City of North Little Rock.
In contracting ******* ********, *** ****** only requested four water lines. We ran 4 water lines.  He did pay 50% down ($1825) and 80% of Sanders’ work is complete. However, the project failed inspection.  It did not have an RPZ for each line because according to the plans submitted to the city included 12/14 units).  The City of North Little Rock will require him to either install the RPZ’s for 12/14 units or resubmit his drawings to the planning committee with only 4 units (not the 12/14 as drawn).
The inspection failure has nothing to do with Sanders Plumbing.  Sanders does owe *** ****** 4 feet of copper for each line (as a professional courtesy, typically we put in the copper right before we cover the line to avoid theft).
*** ****** continues to try to tell us he has it ‘worked out’ with the City of North Little Rock and it is not necessary to do the work by code.  We at Sanders Plumbing follow the code so we have mutually agreed (with a handshake) that he needs to find a different plumbing company to do the work. I offered *** ****** $200 in lieu of installing the copper and he refused to accept the check.  Again, *** ****** agreed to pay Sanders $3,650 and has only paid $1,825 (½ down). We have completed 80% of the job, equating to $2920.  If any refunds are to be made, *** ****** would need to make those to Sanders instead of Sanders paying *** ******.  To clarify, we have not yet asked *** ****** to remit payment for the work completed.
Feel free to contact ** *****, the head plumbing inspector for the City of North Little Rock an and she can confirm all details and requirements. To reach him by phone, please call ************.

    Respectfully yours,
**** *********, owner Sanders Plumbing HVAC

I wish you nothing but the best for you and your project.  You have taken advantage of me and Sanders Plumbing. 80% of the project is done and you have charged back the down payment so I now have zero of the money.  The valves and pressure test was in when we left the job, I assume someone has stolen the parts. I have always made customers happy and have a very long history of doing things proper. I sorry this didn't work out for us both.  Good luck with your project.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
I worked hard for the money I earned, and I never had any intention of taking advantage of you or your company. I did my part and paid in advance, trusting you and your business. You are the one taking advantage here, constantly changing your story.
Also, no one stole anything from the property. According to Plumbing Permit ***********, dated 12/19/2024, the inspection failed simply because you did not install the following parts:
No valve installed by a meter with proper access covers to grade (4 pieces).
No test on service for 4 water lines.
No pressure regulator installed (4 pieces).
Five feet of copper pipe required at the meter (4 pieces).
You did not complete the job or install the parts that you charged me for.
Now, I have to deal with an open trench that is flooding due to the rain, risking damage to the foundation of my property. Additionally, you are sending people who are trespassing on my property to take pictures for no reason and wandering around.
I would also like to see proof that I charged back the down payment.
    Sincerely,

    ***** * ********** ******
