    ABC Fitness Solutions, LLC is a third-party billing company for thousands of health fitness clubs and gyms throughout the United States. ABC does not own or control any health or fitness clubs. ABC does not create or control the membership cancellation procedures of the health and fitness clubs we serve. Although this business has a high volume of complaints, the number of complaints received by the BBB constitutes a small percentage of the health club member accounts serviced by the business. The majority of complaints pertain to consumers attempting to cancel their gym membership agreement. Based on the complaints processed by the BBB, it appears that many consumers do not follow the cancellation procedures set forth in the gym membership agreement that the consumer signed and agreed to. Consumers are advised to carefully review any contracts before signing and have a clear understanding of the cancellation procedures set forth in the contract.

      My new membership at ****** ******* states that I owe an annual fee, which is standard practice. I just went inside a ****** ******* and they had told me that my account is in collections. This was an old account that I had years ago. When I went in to pay and close the account, they had told me that the account was closed and that no payments needed to be made. Now 2 years later, I am told that account has been in collections for 5XX days and that 2 months ago they attempted collecting a payment from ***** ** ******, a bank that I no longer have an account for. I used the same phone number with my new account and have NEVER received a call stating that I had an owed amount in collections! Why is this third party attempting to retrieve money from a closed bank account and why has no one every attempted to call me in 5XX days? In addition, why are they attempting to charge a closed bank account for an annual fee, when the account was closed for no longer use. Why has my new membership not been flagged when I used the same phone number? This is poor auditing and negligent behavior from a company with the audacity to still demand money from me. Why does my current ****** ******* app state I owe an annual fee, but in their CRM systems it is saying that I don't anything on my current account. Again, this is poor business practice and leaves the customer not being able to trust how ****** ******* and ABC Billing conducts business. There needs to be a resolution on the corporations part.

      On 7/1172024 $1680 was taken from my bank account, a single mom of 4, overdrawing my account, causing many fees, and leaving me completely broke sitting on the side of the road without gas money on the way to work. I contacted the gym and spoke with a manager **** ** ***** **. In Richmond Va. who investigated and said they took money for training fees. She also stated she didn’t understand why when I hadn’t been to the gym since 2021, and have no updated contract in many years. Also, when I stopped going, I was owed training because my trainer who was paid up front for a year was fired. She said she refunded the money and took my personal bank account information off of the account so that it would not happen again. I have not received my refund and my credit card that I replaced my account information with, someone attempted to take $1680 again. I want my money refunded. This hit took a toll on me. I don’t even have money for food right now. Please contact me as soon as possible

      After confirmed cancelation, company began charging me again secretly for about a year. After I found that my card had been stolen by the company the card was cancelled. ABC Fitness Solutions now calls me at least once a week if not more.

      *** ****** original membership was canceled on August 15, 2022. However, according to the attached agreement, he reactivated his membership on April 26, 2023. As per the membership terms with ******, a 30-day written notice is required to cancel the membership, and *** **** is responsible for any payments due during this notice period.

      As a courtesy, we have placed his account in a pending cancellation status with an outstanding balance of $183.95. This amount covers his dues from April to July. Once this balance is settled, his membership will officially cancel on August 25, 2024, and he will retain access to the club until that date.

      If *** **** has proof that a written cancellation request was submitted to ****** or ABC previously, please provide that documentation so we can process a backdated cancellation if applicable.       I joined ***** ******* ***, Largo, FL location in March, 2024. I did not like the membership, so I cancelled it promptly. I was told by a worker at the gym that the membership was officially cancelled but one more $10 fee would be charged to my card for May 2024 since the cancellation was less than 30 days. ABC Fitness now calls regularly from a toll free number and leaves a message to inform me that they are unsuccessfully trying to collect $10 from my card. Today, on July 11, 2024, I called the phone number back and the automated system informed me that the membership is cancelled, but they are still trying to collect $10 for May 2024 membership. I called ***** ******* Largo and spoke to a manager. That person told me that in fact, the balance that needs to be collected to date is $85. The ABC Fitness system automatically decided to charge the annual membership fee of $59 in April 2024 and continue to charge additional gym membership fee of $10 for May 2024 and June 2024. I was told that the ABC fitness automated number is for informing members and does not have a live customer service option for resolving issues. The gym locations generally handle member issues. The manager said that there was nothing that she could do to fix the problem of membership fees accruing long after the cancellation. The membership was cancelled in March 2024, the same month I joined the gym. I don't want to be charged the annual membership fee or the monthly membership fees indefinitely. I want the fees accrued after the cancellation to be removed and enforcement to attempt collecting fees to stop.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I have already spoken to management at *** ******* Largo gym who states that the issue of money owed is out of their hands and relies on ABC Fitness company to handle this matter. When the ABC Fitness automated system calls to inform and try to collect money from me, there is no customer service option to talk to anyone to try to help with this matter. Now I have to contact BBB to even get someone from ABC Fitness to respond and am being referred back to *** ******* Largo gym. According to *** ******* Largo gym from the original conversation, they believe monthly charges will continue to accrue because it was never cancelled properly on their end. I cancelled close to the time I joined the gym and all other charges after the cancellation should be removed.

      I opened a gym membership with **** ******s in Westland MI a few years ago. I was not aware that my membership was going to automatically renew. When I realized my membership renewed, and that it was too far for me to use the membership I called the gym and attempted to cancel it. I was directed to call a number to cancel. I have tried several times to reach someone over the past 2 years to cancel, but I only got an automated voice giving me options to update my banking information but no instructions on how to cancel my membership. Today I was finally able to speak with someone and was told that I needed to send an email to request my membership be cancelled that she could not do it over the phone. I asked if I could receive a refund for the monthly charge of 38.00 that had just been debited from my account. She stated that she was not authorized to refund any money. My complaint is that both the gym and the automated response on the 800 number could have both given the instructions to email to cancel, yet neither made that clear causing difficulty in cancelling a membership that I was not using for at least 2 yrs if not longer. I believe my membership was opened in 2020. I feel I am responsible for the first year, but since I had not been in the gym for several years and they could see by their records that I was not using my membership I don't believe it was right for them to continue to renew and charge me.

      I have been trying to cancel my membership since the end of April so all my documentation would be in when I moved the first week of May. I live in South Carolina now and have been here for two months. Since then, I have sent documentation on their list of things required and they have rejected everything. I have sent a signed lease document with my name, address, and dates. I have sent my drivers license receipt, my signed offer letter (which was initially what I was instructed to send), and I just sent my renter's insurance. I informed them I was living at someone else's residence for the first few months so I did not have a lease and that is why I was instructed to send my offer letter. ABC Solutions sends me the same email every time saying I have not given enough information. I am extremely frustrated and expect this to be resolved.

      I have not been a member of an ABC fitness facility that required bank account access for over two years. I've have contacted their CCPA department requesting that my bank account details be deleted from their website. They refuse to delete my personal information generically citing "legal obligations" when there is no possible way that my bank account details could be required for any legal obligations whatsoever. There is a major data leak being reported by companies every month and I want my personal information deleted.

      I disputed a charge of $39 for membership renewal as this was supposed to be a pay as you go gym membership. After non being able to get this fee reversed, I have tried to cancel this account to no avail and now it has been turned over to 1st Collection Services. On my call to cancel this account on 3/19/204, I was given my account # of *********** which I was told was needed to go on-line and cancel the account. The website: www.myiclubonline.com doesn't recognize this account #, so I was unable to cancel the account. I have visited the local gym where I signed up on several occasions and there is never anyone there to cancel the account. Furthermore, I paid for additional use of their HydroMassage bed, I believe this was an additional $10/mo. for 12+months. During the pandemic this service was not available as part of their safety measures. I have never been compensated for not having access although I have been billed for it every month. I am looking for this account to be closed and the balance zeroed out and the collection agency to be contacted and told that nothing in due on my account.       I am rejecting this response because: it doesn't address the bogus yearly fee charge that I disputed from November 2023.  It also fails to address the closure of the message bed for the duration of the Covid pandemic and the continued billing for that.

      It was after the failed resolution of that yearly membership charge that I canceled the payments.
