My husband and I had our roof replaced July 2022 after a hail storm. This was covered by our insurance, minus the deductible. They reroofed the entire 3600sf house, and placed new gutters. The work cost approximately $38,000. About 7 months later, my husband noticed water on the inside of the front hall ceiling, it looked dry so we watched it for about a month. A large snowstorm occurred with sub-freezing temperatures, and the area leaked a much larger amount. We called Foster's, they came and looked and said it was a masonry issue. I called two masons, one referred by them. Both said there were areas that were non-shingled of brick on roof that needed repair (metal cap on brick and drainage pan off ornamental wall on roof) but that masonry was intact and needed no repair. I pointed out that this defect had probably been there since the house was built 15yrs ago, and they did not disagree. I also made a claim with my insurance company, which was denied, claiming defect of workmanship. The warranty on the new roof is for 5 years. Foster's came a second and third time with a water damage restoration company. Foster's did not inspect the attic before they did the work. The attic now shows two areas of leak, both found by me (not them). They claim even though these slow leaks were there "for years", they might not have been able to "see them" before the job was done. Now I am facing tearing off multiple sections of my roof to find the leaks and repair them with my own money. I am not asking them to repair any unshingled portion of the roof, or masonry, only any part involving the roof, drip edge or gutter. There is an area on the second story brick which is now wet after a rain for several days, which was not present before the roofing in July 2022. Again, they have not taken any responsibility for it. I will be glad to send copies of billing, warranty or whatever else your team would like to look at.
