I purchased a GE X 33 random orbital sander made by Bosch on October 12, 2022. I have used this sander rather infrequently over the last 2 1/2 years. Nevertheless, I don't believe it should have failed after only 2 1/2 years, even if I had used it all the time. The rubber gasket that is underneath the pad that holds the sandpaper comes loose and causes the sander to seize up. When I investigated how to fix this particular issue online, I could not find a solution, but I did indeed see several YouTube videos that describe the same exact issue, some of them with sanders that are brand new. Not finding an easy fix online, I attempted to contact Bosch customer service. Their phone number is conspicuously absent from their website. You have to specifically search for "Bosch tools customer service phone number." I called that number and I spoke to a gentleman with a very heavy foreign accent, who told me that he could send me a shipping label so that I could send it in to get an estimate for the cost of repair. I told him I didn't think I should have to pay for a repair, since this is a common issue with this product and it is clearly a defect in manufacturing. He told me he couldn't help me with anything else. I asked him to speak to a supervisor and he put me on hold for 10 minutes and I hung up. I thought I'd give it another try and call the number again perhaps I could get somebody that was a little bit easier to understand. This was to no avail. I got another representative with a heavy accent who pretty much told me the same thing and was unable to connect me with a supervisor. I have exhausted my patience with the rank and file customer service for this company and would like to speak to somebody in authority that doesn't work at an overseas call center, preferably somebody from the corporate offices.
