On September 9, 2022, Amerifirst Financial Inc entered into a Settlement Agreement with the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation. The Agreement settles allegations that the business charged borrowers interest on loans for a period in excess of one day prior to the disbursement of loan proceeds in violation of Financial Code section 50204. Under terms of the order, the business is ordered to immediately discontinue the violations and immediately refund any excessive per diem interest that it charged borrowers along with interest at the rate of ten percent per annum. The business was ordered to pay an administrative penalty in the amount of $165,600.
