Order: ******* Had blinds installed by a hired contractor on November 24. I ordered 4 blinds. Three blinds in the color warm cocoa and one blind in antique pewter. After taking down my existing blinds and putting up the hardware my contractor advised me all the blinds appeared to be the same color a light gray. I used the contact us form on the website immediately after inspecting my contractors work. I followed up with a direct email as there was not auto reply after using the online form that my contact request was received. After multiple back and forth emails they reached out to the manufacturer who advised they were correctly fabricated.I have samples in hand for the color warm cocoa and antique pewter from blinds chalet that show the blinds received DO NOT match the color samples which are the same colors you see online.They have asked me to donate the blinds to a charity and they will refund a portion of my blind costs. This makes no sense as to the unique size of the windows who would want these blinds, not to mention removing brackets and leaving me without any window coverings. I will also have to pay another $100 on top of the cost for ordering new blinds to get new blinds reinstalled. A better plan is to work with the manufacturer with a sample in hand (as I have) to have the blinds remade and shipped to ******* (their HQ) to ensure the color is correct. I have images of the samples next to the blinds and there is absolutely NO COLOR MATCH!!! Light gray blinds do not match the decor of my room which is why I ordered warm cocoa for three of the blinds. This company is not putting the customer first. Manufacturers make errors all the time. I'm sorry to hear that the shade colors were not to your liking. Normally we would not accept returns for custom made window blinds and shades, however, an exception has been made. You can send the product back to the address below within 30 days and a full refund will be issued.

I purchased 8 Silverscreen solar shades from Blinds Chalet (order #*******), which were shipped to me on June, 18th, 2022. On November, 3rd 2022, the Silverscreen fabric (the blind itself) detached from its roller and fell to the ground. I wrote to the company asking for help gluing the fabric back to the roller. I needed to know what type of glue I would need and how to disassemble and re-assemble the roller from the case and motor. ******************* responded to my email asking for a picture, which I sent. I have sent 5 emails asking for a follow-up response and nobody has answered since then. Since the company has not been willing to work with me to fix the blind, I would like to receive a replacement blind.Business response

I purchased eight blinds from Blinds Chalet on September 14 2017. The string pulled out on one end of one of these blinds night before last as I was closing them for the evening. I called Blinds Chalet this morning after checking their warranty on their website (it says it is for the life of the blind for defects). I spoke with ***** at 8:30 a.m. (April 14, 2022) She told me they no longer make this blind and that I should just take to someone locally to have it fixed, or I could see if there is something close to what I have already on their website. I asked if I got it repaired locally if they would reimburse me, she said no. I asked if I found something similar on their website, would they pay for it, she said no. She says the warranty is only for three years even though their website clearly states otherwise. I feel that I should be reimbursed to get it repaired locally. Finding another blind on their website is not a good option, as it is right in the middle of five other blinds on the same wall. I chatted online and asked if they could have a manager call me back. They said they would have their manager call me back today, she has not.Business response

Hi,
A shade cord breaking after 5 years of use is not considered a defect in materials and workmanship. We can offer customer an additional $50 to order a new product, please use discount code DB50 during checkout to receive the additional $50. Or we can offer customer $50 to repair shade locally. A check will have to be mailed if customer decides to get $50 to repair locally.

My complaint was closed before I even had a chance to respond. The Blinds Chalet did call me back and tell me that even though their website said they have a lifetime warranty, these blinds only had a one year warranty, and they no longer carry that brand, therefor they would do nothing to help me out other than give me a good price on buying a replacement blind through them, they would not pay for me to get the blind repaired. The problem is, and I told this to the woman who called me back, there are a total of six blinds on that wall where the one was that broke and I cant just replace the one blind. It wouldnt match with the other blinds on the wall. I paid over $500 for those blinds. Blinds Chalet responded to the BBB saying they would send me a check for $50 to get the blind repaired. I got the email with this information on Saturday, so I called around today to see if I could find someone to repair the blind. I had no luck. I was told that when a string breaks, there are typically more problems inside and the string is probably rubbing on something that made it break. I asked how long cordless cellular blinds should typically last. I was told typically ***** years. This makes sense to me as the cellular shades we had in our home previously were 13 years old and the cords were starting to fail. We have had these blinds from Blinds Chalet for 4 1/2 years (purchased in September 2017). So my only recourse is to replace all the blinds on the wall. And I dont know what a fair solution in this situation is. Ideally I would like for all of the blinds to be replaced so that they match. But I dont trust the quality of the product that Blinds Chalet sold us. I would prefer to use another company that has a REAL warranty where I could get at least 10 - 12 years out of the blinds before needing to be replaced.
