    The Taos 2022/2023 should be recalled before someone is killed. My complaint is against the service department. I purchased a VW Taos in October 2023. Since then I have had three cracked windshields in the same general area and the same pattern. The last crack occurred in less than a month following replacement. I replaced the windshield on June 24, 2024 and again it cracked July 19, 2024. As long as I don't replace the windshield it doesn't crack again. It seems the windshield does not fit properly on the lower left side so needs a release and it cracks. I have brought it to the managers attention and they blame the chip. My concern is why are the chips cracking the same area all the time and no where else on the windshield. Why doesn't chips continue to crack the windshield? My suggestion is to recall. The managers at this location are very insensitive, blaming me for the chip pattern and location. The last manager said that I have chips all over my windshield and what does that have to do with anything; there are no cracks anywhere else. I feel very unsafe and not sure whether one of these times the windshield will just fall into my lap. Apparently this is an ongoing problem for VW and many others have experienced this problem with the windshield and multiple replacements. I should have been made aware the windshield has many unexplainable flaws before buying the car. The Taos 2022/2023 should be recalled before someone is killed.

    Specifically their Service and Parts Dept. Firstly, The Service Dept Mgr and the Parts Dept Mgr are Brothers-in-law, so if you have an issue with one, you have an issue with both. I Began servicing my vw Jetta TDI in approx 2013. Not long thereafter I began requesting one specific Master technician to always service my car. Fast forward to Nov 2021 I brought the car in because of a check engine light. This was the beginning of a ludicrous & very expensive NIGHTMARE. The technician indicated a new (Reman) DP Filter is required. My cost was ballpark $3 Thou. Also, worthy of mention it is not uncommon for Lunde’s service dept to on occasion to keep your car for weeks & in some cases months at a time. Now let’s go to 12/31/21. My car is allegedly fixed & I drive it off the lot approx 1/2 mile. The car dies & will not start. Service Mgr tows car back to the shop which began another series of outrageous scenarios. A day or two later I’m told the serpentine belt broke and was shredded. Now the car needs the entire top half of the engine to be rebuilt. The technician on multiple occasions opened a ticket with VW corporate because he was unable to determine the specific issues with my vehicle. When the tech replaced the DPF he also replaced a coolant hose. It is my opinion that when he switched out the coolant hose some coolant got on the SERP belt and degraded it causing the breakdown when I left the dealership. Also, to mention the tech replaced the DPF 2 additional times along with other parts. The whole thing was nothing more than a huge expensive COMEDY OF ERRORS. The dealership at no time was willing to accept responsibility for their multiple screwups! The technician and I texted back & forth occasionally. On one such text the tech texted me “Yes I am working with Volkswagen on it; it’s a bunch of BS—-, will see what happens”. Bottomline, their Service Dept STINKS to the Nth Degree! Caveat Emptor! Do yourself a favor & stay away from their service dept!
