Imagine my surprise today when we opened a bill from ****** for $470 today. So of course I call to inquire and Im told that because we had ONE payment past due in the last year and a half - they tacked on a security deposit of $270. Forget late fee. Keep in mind our account was currently up to date. They she offers me options to help with payments. To which I responded that I dont have trouble making my payment. Forgive me if I forgot one time and paid a little late. Then she proceeds to tell me ways to lower my gas usage which include- LOWERING my thermostat in WINTER aka dont use heat. And using a hot plate instead of our gas stove soo dont use my basic appliance to cook meals for my family. Great. Thanks. Good advice. Crazy that we have to limit using our every day appliances because this company will price ***** you for cooking dinner for your family. Good work ******. Way to be there for your customers.

I've been a customer of ** Gas for over a decade and have always paid my bills using their auto payment plan (APP) from the same bank account. Recently I changed banks and accordingly went to the ** Gas Web site and changed my bank routing and account numbers, assuming this would take care of the autopay. Wrong! Two weeks later I got two letters both dated the same date telling me my auto payment had been returned and that I would now have to pay in cash or by money order or cashier's check and may have to make a security deposit.Naturally I was shocked. So I went on-line again and in spite of what was said in the letters I was able to pay my delinquent bill plus the current one and was able to set up auto pay again using the banking information I had previously entered. To follow up I called their Customer **************** and verified that my account was in good standing. The company representative was very polite and informed me that the problem was that it takes them one or two billing cycles to incorporate any changes in autopay and that I'd better check the status of my account on-line frequently after the next scheduled meter reading. My complaint is that ** Gas, which is a large corporation that I assume has a technology department and does have a customer relations department, can't accommodate something as simple as a change in bank information within a day or two if not immediately and then compounding the problem by sending scary threatening letters that aren't really true. My advice to ** ************** is to bring the company into the 21st century!

This is the worst company in ********* and the only one that is why they can raise our bills and expect them to be paid or theyll just come and shut ** off. I have spent between last month and this month $700 in bills with just this company. I am sick of it. I am outraged. something has to be done. Im not the only one who is being overcharged.

My December **** stated a $160 credit with a $0 balance forward, (it was a $300+ credit until they rebilled for all the months that I have no bills for) so my bill in ******* was only $2 then all of a sudden in February they tell me I owe them $440 for hidden bills and meter issues which makes no sense. Not one person at SW gas has been able to explain this satisfactorily or even logically.

Southwest Gas has a monoply on a large portion of ******* & have doubled their pricing. They mention a small change in pricing but bill went from $40 to $140. This company has been taking advantage of the fact that they have no competition & get to increase whatever with customers just having to take it.

SW Gas are a textbook example of American Corporate Pigs. They cut the gas in January of an 81 year old man under going cancer treatment. The old man an' his little dog were taking care of a house belonging to a man in prison in PA. The old man had never received a gas bill since he moved in the house a year ago. Bill is over $900. The old man offered to pay the bill out. SWG refused. He ask that he open an account in his name.... SWG refused and could only be done once the bill was paid in full and a lease from the owner supplied. A lease cannot be provided since the owner is in prison on the east coast. . The account is in the owner's name and SWG will not release any information on the owner..... not even the full amount. The old man and his little dog have no other place to go. The house is cold. Neighbors have provided him with a few space heaters.... but still there is no hot water for bathing, dishes and cleaning. So here we have a prime example of money taking priority over human life.... especially the elderly. The old man's income is meager and is classified by government standards of being in the extreme poverty level.I see SWG donates to political campaign funds. Seems a corporation providing a public utility should remain neutral. But, after all, this is the new America where money is the mainstream and compassion is only a word..

Horrible company to deal with. If you are a property owner, it matters not. We had to jump through major hoops to get the gas restored (still working on it) after a tenant skipped out and didn't keep his bills paid. They are treating us like we owe them. The tenant that skipped has more rights than we do to be able to get our gas service restored.
