Found the company on BBB and ****'s List, I met with the contractor explaining I needed an addition completed as soon as possible. I was told it would be completed by the end of the year ********************** January 2023. I signed the contract on September 6, 2022. AZ Design & Build used Matrix Architecture to submit the plans to the City of ******* and complete the Permit Process. I paid about 50% of the total project. ****** was very hands-off with this process going months without any response and was finally completed on June 8, 2023 after I had to intervene several times to get it moving. There was no schedule received and the only one that was given was incorrect. The project work was started on August 26 to start plumbing and foundation. The framing was mostly completed and I paid 40%. The schedules were never consistent and the communication has been very poor, including lying. We had no warm water for 3 months (now fixed), No work was done this past month until I strongly expressed my concerns and frustrations. The roof was promised to be completed several weeks ago, the drywall and insulation haven't started. The project is over a year later and not completed.

I signed a contract with AZ Design and Build 10/21/22. I was assured by ***************************** that he understood my urgency to complete this for my parents, who need me to care give. ******* quoted me five months to completion of the entire project. We paid him $11,500.00 for the set of drawings. I didnt get a set of plans to review for approval until 2/24/23. The plans were finally submitted to the city 3/6/23. I was given a schedule to complete the project by May 31st, including any over runs.Heavy pressure followed for payment of $23,000 due at plan completion. We paid him $23,000 on 3/30/23. Further plan check corrections took until 6/22/23.In the meantime, ******* prepared a printed schedule for work that would have it done by May 31st, including two weeks for contingencies. ******* then pushed hard for the funds at concrete of $34,500. We paid this amount via wire transfer on 4/10/23. Im not sure why we paid this at the time, because the slab wasnt poured and approved until early August. Framing- We still dont have final approval from the citys of 11/2/23, but ******* pushed very hard for the amount due at framing. I thought that framing WAS finished, per *******. We sent a wire transfer of $34,500 on 8/30/23. ******* was then going to push hard to complete by September 30th. He had funds, and approval on specifications from me. Its November 2nd and we still dont have permits cleared on plumbing, mechanical and framing. The windows are not in place. We have paid $103,000.I had to threaten legal action to get ******* to respond to me with anything more than excuses and more promises, and he is the ONLY available contact for this company.
