Im a previous resident of ************** in Prescott. Tnt hired Prescott Flooring to replace carpet in the unit I previously resided. Prescott flooring is charging a ridiculous amount of labor on the install therefore, I went into Prescott Flooring and asked for a copy of the invoice and they told me they couldnt give me a copy because TNTs charges may be different than theirs. It isnt right! There is something seriously wrong and its a my expense. I just want to be treated fairly. TNT is holding me liable, for Prescott Floorings labor charge. I agreed that the carpet needed replaced however the charge of the carpet was $1060 and the labor is over $1288.00. This is too much money for labor! Its ridiculous! I need BBBs help to get this issue resolved. What can I do as a consumer to protect myself against this company charging too much for labor?

    Dear ************,

We're not sure why you have filed a complaint against us. We were not hired by you, but by TNT ******************* to replace the carpet in Unit 15 C at ********************. They agreed to the price and paid us for the job. The labor bill contains several steps, not just carpet installation. It may be your opinion that this is expensive, but these charges are nothing out of the ordinary for what was done nor is it fair for a new tenant to move into a contaminated unit.

Unfortunately, TNT found several spots of pet urine, so there was no option but to replace the carpet. That includes the following:

    Carpet and Pad: $954.18

Tear Out Contaminated Carpet and Pad: 287.28

    Kilz floor sealer: 171.00

    Sealing the floor: 228.00

    Installation: $666.90

    Freight for carpet: $102.60

    Tax: 93.95

Total: $2,503.91 which is 90% of total for time carpet was used.

Again, it may be your opinion that this is expensive, but the property management company routinely contracts with us to replace flooring, as do other property management companies in the area. This amount is completely in line for the work that had to be done. It is unfortunate that the carpet had to be replaced due to pet issues, but your argument is with them and not us.

    Sincerely,

    *****************
