On 8/18/21 *********************** from J&Z Lawn Maintenance and Landscaping was sent out by Angie's **** to quote me on a job regarding my front yard. ******* told me if I went through J&Z, their quote would be around $1K less, so he told me not use Angie's ****. He quoted me $7,300 for palm tree removal, 15 plants including one tree, gravel removal, plant removal, new irrigation, new gravel, a border around the perimeter of the yard, and a block wall.On 8/24/21 I paid his crew $3K on top of $800 that had already been paid, and in good faith that they'd be back to finish. Later that day, I handed ******* $1K in cash, he said he needed the money to buy the rock and plants. That was the last day I saw ******* until this past Sunday, 3/6/22. Up until then, I tried multiple attempts to have ******* come back to finish. Each time I would get an excuse as to why the work has not been completed, and each time he told me they would be there to do work soon. I finally realized ******* had no intention of finishing the job, so I started asking for my money back. Yet again, there was always an excuse and him asking for more time to get the money with zero follow-up on his part. This man had no intention of giving me back my money, and it was clear that he had spent that money on something else. It was not until I finally asked my boyfriend to help me that ******* finally agreed to meet and he paid me $1K in cash, but he and his wife/girlfriend were extremely hostile and stated that I was "Lucky to be getting this money back". I reached out to two companies that I believe he works for, and I am unable to get a response My front yard has not been completed, and *********************** is a thief and I want these companies to know this and to give me an explanation on why they think this is ok. J&Z Lawn initially said *********************** does not work for them, but the next day called and left me a text message asking me to call them back. This leads me to believe he does work there.
