  On 12/24/22, my teen was assaulted by another teen while inpatient at Desert Springs. No one on staff contacted us, the parents, about the incident. We called the next day after hearing about it from our child. The current management is not allowing access to any of the information about it, stating it is part of their internal documents that are not allowed to be released. We did not have any follow up, even after finally filing an official grievance in Feb 2023. In the days following the incident, my child asked multiple times about their options of filing a police report, but the police were not contacted There was stated to be video evidence that was never shown to us, and has now been deleted. My child, who was using a wheelchair, got her glasses broken, and had scratches and bruises; none of this was documented in my childs medical record. And again, the staff did not contact us at the time of the incident or in the days following. When we contacted them, Destiny Springs refused a one-on-one staff for my child to keep them from further harm, or staff for the child that instigated the event (to keep him from harming my child again). This other child continued to make threatening remarks and gestures to my child, as well as using taunting and aggressive language around her (tell other around him in a loud voice, Did you hear about how I kicked that crippleds ass?). We were told by staff that everything would be fine because he was about to be discharged. This is not a safe establishment. From a medical, emotional health standpoint,and communication, this situation had multiple ways patients rights were violated.

  So my daughter was placed here and its been horrible. No doctor has gave us a diagnosis but continues to have "social workers" call demanding we put her on medication. The only time a doctor called. ****************************** simply called to laugh in my face. And tell me I'm not doing enough. I've done all I can. I just want her to be healthy and these people are being unethical. Just giving medication to make a dollar. This needs to be stopped. We're trying to help people. And indeed says you don't need any training or qualifications to be hired! This is why there's a drug problem.
