PLEASE READ IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING THEIR MONTHLY MAINTENANCE PLAN We were loyal Scottsdale Air customers for years and trusted them with our home. Last year, we signed up for their monthly maintenance service, thinking it would extend the life of our ** units and save us the hassle. Unfortunately, it did the *********** the end of the year, they told us we needed two brand-new unitsa staggering $40,000 expense. That pushed us to get second and third opinionsand everything unraveled from there.Despite three service visits, other companies found thick dust layers in our attic that had clearly built up over months. We were told that every millimeter of dust forces the ** to work up to 25% harderyet it hadnt been cleaned. They went into the attic each time, but apparently did nothing.Worse:The filters they claimed to clean hadnt been touched. We paid extra for rodent-proofing, yet another company found a large dead rat and even an orange inside the unitcompletely missed or ignored by Scottsdale. They told us both compressors were failing, but diagnostics from other pros confirmed they were in perfect working condition once properly cleaned. We also had ongoing system error codesnow clearly tied to the neglect. When we shared photos showing the dust and lack of maintenance, their only response was that they'd "physically visited" three times. No accountability. No apology. Nothing.Bottom line: I feel completely misled. Their maintenance seemed more like a tactic to sell expensive replacements. Weve since found an honest HV** company, avoided the $40K replacement, and our system is running better than evererror-free.Learn from our costly mistake. Find a reputable, transparent provider. This company proved to be either incredibly shady or deeply incompetent.

The Scottsdale Air web page talks about 75 years of service. Don't believe it. All of that past ownership no longer has any involvement in the current daily operations of Scottsdale Air.As a loyal customer of some 20 years I can tell you first had that this is no longer the same company. The great reviews do not represent the current ownership of Scottsdale Air.******************* is no longer the Owner of Scottsdale Air.Today I was told by an office employee that the current owners do not and will not do business as ******************* did. That they will not honor commitments made by prior ownership. As one example. My most recent purchase was in December of 2023. My sales representative said that included a 10 year parts and labor warranty. This is not a completely true statement.Today I was told by the new ownership that "diagnostics" are not considered labor under the warranty agreement. That I will be charged a minimum $95.00 diagnostic fee for every on-site visit. Even on a 6 month old system. My 2 year old system, that also included 10 year parts and labor, is now subject to this new minimum diagnostic fee.Other examples include. Out of warranty systems include a $95 diagnostic fee. Even if you go forward with repairs. Most companies wave that fee.Service technicians talk openly about being told to declare all systems as "in need of replacement".It was made very clear to me that Scottsdale Air will no longer do business as it did with prior owner ********************** please be cautious when reading anything but the most current reviews. The current ownership is an absentee group. This is no longer a hands on ownership that cares about it's individual customers. The current ownership is doing everything it can to not honor or even acknowledge the commitments made by the prior ownership. What other commitments will this new ownership ignore in the future?I have personally not been at all satisfied with the current company that calls itself Scottsdale Air.

Contracted with Scottsdale Air to complete an annual inspection of two A/C units. After the technicain completed the inspection, he stated the following:1. One of the units needed a capacitor that cost $375.00 2. Both units needed new fan motors at a cost of $1,000.00 each.I agreed to have the capacitor installed, but declined to install the two fan motors. After the technician left, I researched the cost of the capacitor on the internet and found the price was approximately $50.00. I then contracted with another company to inspect the two units specifically to determine if the two fan motors needed to be replaced. As I suspected, the fan motors did not need to be replaced and I avoided a $2,000.00 unnecessary expense!I don't know if this type of service starts at the top or if the technician was working on a commission and thought he might make a quick buck from an unsuspecting customer. I can only speculate that I am not the first person to experience this type of service.
