My name has been added to someone else's account without my verification/approval. In attempts to remove my name, Progressive tells me that they are not authorized to do such. If they are not authorized to remove my name, how are they authorized to added it to someone else's policy (a person that I do not know). In talking with the different agents they released the policy holder's name to me and the policy holder obviously has my name. This demonstrates a lack of regard for customer privacy.

I was told by a representative of progressive..that I was being dropped from my insurance because I got married.( got MARRIED) wow. And that was told to me on a recorded line with progressive insurance sales person, November 2 2023..at about 3;20pm . so I had to scramble and get truck insurance from another carrier .With USAA with a much higher premium and monthly cost, , and I am on a fixed income as a disabled veteran retired..after receiving this letter. It not knowing that I did not have insurance on my vehicle 45 day..for that amount of time until I got this letter in the mail November 2. I am frantically on the phone for several hours, getting quotes from different insurance company having to get insurance on my truck 2021 GMC immediately. I received a notice that I have a collection from PROGRESSIVE on my credit report. It says it was opened on 11/08/2021 for $246.00 with account number starting in ******** that I am not aware of nor am I responsible for. I never went into business with this company or signed any agreements with them so they should not be reporting anything on my credit. This is a violation of my rights as a consumer according to the **** and FDCPA.I would like for this collection to be removed ASAP or I will file a CFPB and FTC report.
