We go to ******* for 6 weeks in the winter. We have an ecobee thermostat that notifies our cell phone if the temperature drops below 45 degrees in our home in **. At 6:00 pm (Saturday) on 1/28/23 our phone indicated that our temperature was 41 degrees. We had our neighbor come over to verify this and the temp was down to 39 degrees. We called at least 10 different repair companies to ask if they could come out immediately because the temperature was going below zero and we live on a slab house and know our pipes would be freezing if it was not fixed immediately. We finally found a company to come out and repaired the furnace. The house was built in 2018 and the furnace was under warranty. We paid for the bill and when we contacted Carrier they said they wouldn't pay for the repairs because it wasn't an authorized Carrier repair company. We explained that we were **** miles away and had called over 10 different companies and no one could come out and that if it wasn't repaired that evening we would have frozen pipes and a damaged home. In this situation, with the below temperatures, our inability to get to our home, and the expected damage to our home I do not agree that Carrier should not pay for the damaged parts that needed to be replaced in a relatively new furnace. I have written to the ********* ************************* and they have sent 2 letters to Carrier and received no response. All I'm asking for is for them to pay for the faulty part that needed to be replaced and is under warrenty. The bill was $649.00 and I believe that Carrier should pay for $359.00 for the faulty gas valve that needed to be replaced. I guess there is no warranty on the furnace and we were supposed to wait until we could find an authorized dealer while our pipes froze and our home was damaged. This is no warranty.
