Needed check up on heat pump as heard some difficulty in the fan first time turning on this winter. I chose a different company than my usual due to coupon for free service call with repair ****** value. I explained I didn't know if I had an issue or not and not sure what coupon I would need, if I needed a new unit they had a coupon for ***** off heat pump install and a coupon for ***** off any hvac repair. ***** said we would use the free service call and go from there. I got a text from ***** that he was on his way and 45 minutes later he arrived from the other end of ******. I texted my husband when I heard him pull up so I would have record of time he arrived. He didn't want to wear booties in the house but I don't want shoes worn in the house so he reluctantly went back out to get them and then told me it's a pain to take them on and off if he has to go outside. I liked their ad that states wear booties in your home and provide cleanliness guarantee. He trouble shot his idea to change the capacitor due to lower reading than optimal in 5 minutes. I said ok let's do it, I asked how much he said around ******. Great. He went out to the truck to get it and had it installed in less than a ma blink of an eye. He took a look at the new filter and put the filter door back on with the 2 hand tightened screws. I had him check the power and the heat temp coming out of the unit and 2 vents. We talked about life for a few and less than an hour he was gone. I texted my husband a few minutes later to let him know it was all good and to have record of the time being less than an hour. I expect the bill to be around a ****** so when ***** called before 9am the next morning and told me the bill was ****** I was floored. I got the free service call with repair yes, but then the labor was 120 an hour (I think that's what she said) and he charged for 1.5 hours.
