I feel I was severely over charged, went in for brake service and got the run around not sure if it was because I was a female but after talking to multiple people I was charged way more for services then it should have been, I feel this company is ripping off people to make more money which isnt fair when u are just trying a get a service fixed at a reasonable price

Near death experience.Brought my 2020 Acura into Brake masters store # *** on August 28th 2024. Scope of work- oil change, swap out new battery (I provided the new battery) remove the old battery, new windshield wipers, oil change, AC inspection and a brake inspection. Agreed to almost 700 bucks out the door.Picked up the car 3-4 hours later, all work completed- or so I thought. I got home and realized they didnt dispose of the old battery- drove back the next day, they grabbed the battery- then I noticed my oil life indicator was only at 30% - which means that they didnt do the oil change or forgot to reset the light. Back to the store - indicator light was reset- Next day it starts to rain, and I turn on my wipers ad realized they never replaced my wipers- they charged me for them- but never replaced them- I asked BM to take the wipers off of my bill as I went next door to auto zone and replaced them myself. We planned 4 days to travel home to ******* with an initial stop in the ************. On a very steep downgrade outside of Flagstaff at 70 mph, I applied the brakes and the car started to shake uncontrollably- when we finally got to a stop and exited- the lug nuts were loose on both front wheels. ** had failed to secure the front lug nuts after the brake inspection. We had to stay in the ************ an extra day to get the car inspected, and because all of our hotels the rest of the trip were non refundable- and my fianc is disabled from a stroke, we headed back to ******. I was able to finally get this escalated up the chain from the store manager, ***** to two regional HR director, ********* *****. HR director ********* ***** was adamant that no costs would be covered in this incident, except for the inspection cost after the lug nut incident- $44. ********* ***** and Brake Masters fully intend to charge me for the brake inspection, where they removed the wheels and failed to tighten the lug nuts and almost killed us.

Subject: Clarification and Resolution Regarding Recent Review
I am writing to address some inaccuracies in your recent review and to clarify our position on the matters discussed.

Firstly, please note that brake inspections are provided free of charge. It is also important to highlight that the issue with your vehicle emerged after driving over 250 miles. Following this, the vehicle was inspected by an independent third party, which found no damage related to the lug nuts being improperly torqued,  and issued a clean bill of health.

Our office remained in communication with you until the inspection took place. However, there was a delay in your response, as we did not hear from you until September 9th. On this date, we requested the receipt for the inspection to facilitate reimbursement, which was initially requested on September 5th. As of September 10th, we have not yet received this receipt.

Furthermore, as of September 10th, we have confirmed that the windshield wipers were not replaced by Brake Masters. We apologize for this oversight and are prepared to refund you for the cost of the wipers that were not installed.
To resolve this matter, we kindly ask you to provide the receipt for the inspection.

Once received, Brake Masters will process refunds for both the inspection and the windshield wiper blades.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to resolving this issue to your satisfaction.

      Sincerely
      Brake Masters

Do not get service from this place of amateurs. I had my brakes replaced and, on my next trip down the I-10, I lost them and was within a few inches of a serious accident! It turns out a bolt was not put back on one of the calipers! For over a month, they have not returned my calls and have only offered a discounted oil change in recognition for the most frightening experience that they caused. This is simply bad business and extremely disappointing! If you value your safety, I recommend you take your business elsewhere.

Never ever ever use Brake Masters at the location on *************************************! I'm fuming right now at the poor service my son received for a brake job. He took his car to this location on Tuesday 6/18/24 for a 2 pm appointment. They didn't look at his car that day and he had to leave it there overnight. They called him on Wednesday to tell him that he needed rear brakes and drums and would cost him over $1,200 to repair the rear brakes and also to repair the front brakes that weren't needing brakes. He declined for them to do the work because it was outrageous! So he told them to put the car back together and he'd come pick it up. Well in the process of putting it back together, the mechanic broke the drum and couldn't put it back together. So they told him that he needed to go buy his own parts and bring the parts to the shop so that they could put it back together. So another night without his car so that we could get the parts. I couldn't understand why we had to get the parts. So we got the parts to them Thursday and was told the car would be ready by 2 pm the same day. When we went to pick up the car at 2 pm, it was sitting in the parking lot. So we thought it was fixed. Well it wasn't. They still hadn't put the car back together. So then we were told that it definitely would get put back together that same night no matter what. My son received a call after 6 pm on this same day telling him that due to them putting the drums on the wrong sides of the car, that it wouldn't be fixed until sometime the next day which is Friday 6/21/24. This is the most ridiculous service I have ever heard of. They over inflated their prices to include work that doesn't need to be done, the mechanics are incompetent and very poor customer service. This is such idiocy to the finest! It shouldn't take three days to fix brakes on a ****** Camry. But yet we wait another night without his car. Stay tuned!

"Came here for an AC repair on my 2005 Trailblazer. Paid $270 for a ******** valve repair and was told everything was fixed and I should be good to go and they refilled my refrigerant and charged me for it. By 8pm the same day my AC was blowing hot again and was clearly not fixed. Called in to make an appointment and complained about the issue and whoever I spoke to was completely dismissive and rude. I requested an appointment and the people that answer the phone never make an appointment they just lie through their teeth and say "yes come in tomorrow" and then there is no appointment, so when you go in there is a line and they tell you "first come first serve" (ridiculous). You have to go on the website to make an appointment because the people answering the phone just don't care enough. Extremely disappointed with my experience here and I am now $270 down the drain with nothing fixed. I will not be returning to this location/company moving forward. Extremely disappointed." This is the ****** review that I left on the company. I then reached out to customer support and dealt with a ***************************** who clearly does not understand how to read an invoice. He lied through his teeth about the services performed and I called him out on it and he was so sensitive that he apparently felt abused by the capitalization in my email. I requested a supervisor and he responded that I was "being abusive and he will now close my case and I will not be serviced at Brake Masters anymore". Bunch of crooked thieves performing fraud here. He clearly didn't read where I stated already that I WILL NOT BE RETURNING HERE. I only messaged to make their customer support aware of the issue and now I am forced to file an FTC and BBB complaint because of the horrible support I received. All he had to do was properly read the invoice and not close my case when the company is in the wrong here. Of course I am upset?? You stole my money and my issue persists. AC still not repaired but money gone!

The ****** and 38th Street location in ******* attempted to overcharge me by $400, claiming I had a faulty caliper. However, two other mechanics confirmed that there was nothing wrong with my caliper. I contacted Brake Masters corporate via email on April 2nd, filled out their follow-up survey, and left a voicemail, but received no response. After escalating the issue on April 18th through ******* Yelp, and ******** reviews, the company replied to my ****** review with a generic message requesting that I email the same address I had messaged on April 2nd, and also provided a fax number. To date, there has been no meaningful response from the company.*****************************************

The fact that I provided the parts didn't help me save any money or receive an honest estimate for replacing one side or four fuel injectors. Apparently It seems I paid over $500 dollars for a job that takes less than two hours! Talk about price gouging, ******* takes the cake! Never will return and will not recommend brake masters ever! I can't believe American businesses are so extortive and shady!

I was told my rotors needed replaced by another auto repair. But my truck is only 4 yrs old . I took it to Brake Masters in Ahwatukee **. They did a free inspection of my brakes and said they were fine and the pads didn't even need replaced. I appreciate their honesty as they could have replaced the pads or not and charged me, I wouldn't have known. I will be returning to their business for my upcoming oil change. Thank you for not fleecing this senior citizen. ********
