Yesterday morning Sierra Tucson paid the airfare and put my nephew, ******* ******* on an plane to San Diego to continue his care in a PHP program recommended and arranged by Sierra Tucson. Additionally, Sierra Tucson ensured that *******’s continued care would be on a scholarship basis for a minimum of 30 days. However, Sierra Tucson missed the fact that another one of its patients was also sent to the same PHP program they sent my nephew. This patient stated to staff at Sierra Tucson and at the PHP facility that she was afraid of ******* and did not want to be in a program with him. As a result, and since she arrived first to the PHP as a paying client and ******* was on a scholarship, he was told that he could not be in the program and needed to leave the facility immediately. So now, a 24-year-old man who suffers from bi-polar 1 with psychosis, PTSD, depression, anxiety, etc. is wandering the streets of San Diego. It is my belief that Sierra Tucson is at fault and needs to find a suitable PHP or treatment program for my nephew before something terrible happens to him. As a family we have reached out to every top executive and contact possible at Sierra Tucson and promised early morning call backs to no avail. Sierra Tucson has not followed their own guidelines or an accepted standard of clinical care which has contributed to a lack of physical and emotional safety for *******. I hope you will agree that this is a justifiable complaint against Sierra Tucson.
