The worst health insurance company I have every dealt with. I was sold a more expensive plan to avoid the headache and outrageous costs of my medication from the prior year. I was told it would be only $60 with the more expensive plan. It is listed as $60 for the tier 3 medication on the card. I was charged $300 for the medication. They said it was a mistake. Would not happen again. They fixed it. It happened again. I was on the phone with 8 different people who all gave me different responses, everything from, 'I don't know' to 'it's your deductible' to 'it's not your deductible, there's a clause we never heard of' to it's because it's brand name' to 'I will transfer you to someone else'. Not a single person seems to have a clue, or any desire to advise me on what to do, and why I keep blatantly getting lied to about the cost of a medication. It is absurd to be paying over $600 a month for a single prescription. How this isn't outright fraudulent is beyond me. How anyone get's medications they need with BCBS is beyond me. How there is zero regulation of companies like BCBS scamming patients just trying to get prescriptions, is beyond me. The guy that sold me my plan, the agents I speak to on the phone, are just as confused as I am. I've been on the phone for hours to get an actual real answer. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy the surprise of having zeros tacked on to your pharmacy receipts, and constantly being mislead and lied to.

After reading these reviews I see that I am repeating what has already been said: that they have terrible customer service infrastructure and it's nearly impossible to get anything achieved. For over a year they couldn't even to auto payments and calling them was a nightmare because the customer service they contract is national and doesn't know about anything local. Just today, I called the number that was on my card and the first call, I got the silent treatment and they hung up on me. They called me, and again, silence. They stopped trying. I called again and got someone who said I needed to be transferred to someone who could help me cancel my account. I asked them why they couldn't cancel it and they told me they weren't Blue Cross Blue Shield, just a national customer service and that they don't like to give out their number but unfortunately their system was down and they couldn't give me a number. So they couldn't get me the number for the company I thought I was calling! They then gave me another number which turned out to be for federal employees only, and that person gave me three numbers. I finally got in touch and the number was not published anywhere. This is the antithesis of customer service. Also, I had to enter my lengthy policy number and birthdate every time I called, then when someone answered, guess what, I had to tell them my policy number and birth date! What was the point of entering that. I did that **** times today just to get my policy canceled. Good riddance to them!

I have been trying to contact anyone at blue cross blue shield. I wait an hour then get disconnected. I have called once or twice a week for the past month. I was to receive a packet with my insurance cards and coverage. I have received nothing except they did cash my check. I have tried to use their web site and after filling everything out I get the same message that their was an error and leave message. I leave message and never get called for e-mailed back. This is the by far the worst company I have ever tried to contact. I am afraid if I need to contact them with a health issue I will be dead if they ever call me back.
