My husband purchased a part from the store on **** * ***** ***** ******* ** ***** about a year ago. This was a very expensive computer for this vehicle. The part was ordered and he went in picked it up gave all his information and paid for it. When he picked up the part he was given the part without the box it came in. To our understanding the part had warranty. A year later the very expensive part (which is also something that rarely goes bad in a vehicle) goes bad and husband goes in with the part to check for warranty. The manager Jose right way without even looking at a computer or anything tells him that without a receipt he cannot look to check if the part has a warranty. So but we live in 2024 how can a Auto part store be so behind on technology to the only way to keep track of auto part and if a customer has warranty on that part is by a receipt. One receipts can be lost and ink fades even when receipt is stored. They refused to help him. Other Auto part stores such as AutoZone and Orielly's you give them your phone number and they are able to track all your purchases and warranty on those purchases. The fact that this part only lasted a year also shows how cheap the part thar was ordered was. It was very expensive for it to be bad only a year later and the fact they refuse to check for warranty is ridiculous. So now my husband has a vehicle he can't drive to work and has to pay $500 elsewhere when he was told he had warranty when he purchased it. The manager Jose even jokingly told my husband we'll I have a friend that is a mechanic he can take a look at it but he is not cheap. That was so odd to say, when my husband has mechanic experience, part is easy to put in, and part is still broken no good. It felt as he was mocking my husband and he felt very disrespected by his refusal to help and then to say that. Honestly the employees there are so lazy. Horrible customer service. Will never buy or recommend anyone to buy anything from Merles.
