My car was towed on Friday night (2/2/2024) at 11:20pm, and was kept there until Monday morning (2/5/2024). According to "The rate to commercially tow or remove a trespassing vehicle from private property shall not exceed one hundred twenty dollars" according to HB 2261. It also states that I can not be charged for the days that the towing company was closed Arizona legislature 28-4847 "Storage fees and charges may not accrue for any day when the storage lot is not open or available by appointment on a day and time specified in paragraph 3 of this subsection to obtain a detailed statement of charges or to have a vehicle release". When I brought up this the lady who told me it will be a total of $280, she told me she will send the bill to collections at which point there is a 35% extra charge on it, which is another $98. I paid the original $280, but this is a ridiculous situation and it was completely illegal.Initial Complaint

11/14/23 Vehicle was impounded from apartment complex paid reserved space. Property manager states never calling tow company to pick vehicle up. Tow company decided to pick up vehicle on there own. When I went to pay fees related to tow charge I asked for photographic proof to show that permit was not visible on dash he stated he did not have any photos of the front of vehicle only the rear. I asked him to write on receipt stating he had no proof of pictures with him signing it admitting to not having any pictures.Initial Complaint

Today a friend sent me an article News 4 wrote about towing companies praying on locals here in Tucson. Last night a tow truck from A & B towing came in the middle of the night and towed my 2015 Malibu from my appt complex on Speedway and Pantano (Pantano Pavilions). My wife works till about 1:00AM and when she gets home there are Zero spots available to park. She had to park in a striped zone because that's all that is available at 1:00AM. When she came out in the morning the car was gone. We thought it has been stolen because the managers at the desk of the apartments said they authorized NO towing that evening. So, she called the police to report it and behold, it had been reported to TPD as a tow by A & B. So what's my point? The apartment complex didn't authorize this or call A & B. A & B just cruise through the complexes looking and decide to grab a car that is parked in a spot like this and then they take it. Then they wanted to charge me $220.00 to get the car back. So I had words with them and threatened a lawsuit because they had no authorization from the complex to take the car, nor from anyone for that matter. After me and Mr. Lolo had "words" my wife called me and said the management called A & B and Lolo said it was "a mistake" and that we could come and get the car free. The reason I am contacting BBB is so you can look into this shady company and possibly save others from having to deal with this treachery. My wife lost eight hours of work time, I lost three just getting the car back, and the mental exhaustion of calling cops, tracking down the car and then arguing with these animals is just beyond necessary. If they were willing to just give me my car back and said it was a "mistake" they must know they were ripping me off and this could lead them to litigations, which by the way I am going to do. I would lost my mind if I had to pay these slime balls $220.00 like the lady before me had to.Initial Complaint

My car was towed at ~2am on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from an apartment complex with no signage about permits/ parking rules. A & B is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. I just moved here for a new job and am an hourly worker in TUSD, so I had to clock out early on my 4th day of work to get my car. A & B then charged me $20/ day INCLUDING the days when they were closed, and I could not get my car even though I tried to pick it up Saturday, July 29. Their total came to $260, and I would like a refund for the days that they were closed/ would not allow me to access my vehicle ($40 for Saturday and Sunday), which again, caused me to miss part of a work day. Going forward I would hope to see them expand their working hours to weekends as their current hours seriously impede those whose vehicles they have already towed and locked up.Initial Complaint

Whoever was driving the vehicle with license plate # CM27221 between the hours of 430pm and 530pm on Tuesday May 23rd going north on Kolb rd between Valencia and Irvington was driving like an absolute madman, weaving in and out of traffic very haphazardly. No signals of any kind, and speeds in excess of 65 on a 50 mph section with heavy traffic. Almost caused 4 accidents while merging literal inches from another vehicle causing them to slam brakes on. Almost hit me as a motorcyclist from behind because I wasn't going fast enough, wildly pulled around me and cut in front of me causing me to slam my brakes. This driver needs to be disciplined and reprimanded immediately as this is extremely unacceptable driving behavior. If I couldve caught up to him in the heavy traffic I would have gotten police involved as he is a danger to other drivers and, AGAIN, ALMOST CAUSING 4 SEPARATE ACCIDENTS IN LESS THAN A CITY BLOCKS LENGTH. TERMINATE THIS EMPLOYEE HE IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED.Initial Complaint

I was threatened by two employees of A&B towing 1:20am on 04/19/23. As the employees were towing a car, they were blocking my pathway to my parking spot. They immediately got violent and yelled at me to “get the fuck out of the way” as I told them that I was just trying to get to my spot. Employees pounded on my window and told me “I don’t give a fuck. You have five seconds to get out of the car and meet me pussy or I’m gonna smash your window in”. As I backed up, the employees continued to yell at me. Calling me a “pussy ass bitch” and saying things like “that’s what I thought mother ******”. I have the incident on my dash camera with audio. A & B TOWING did not get a notice of the towing until several days after the vehicle was removed. They also were not present during their hours of operation 2 days in a row. Charged for 5 days of storage; $20 each day. . attempted to recover the vehicle the day of and they were not at their business during their said business hours per the website and signs. Overcharged for the "storage" as I was not allowed to pick up the vehicle during their normal operating hours.Initial Complaint

The vehicle was towed September 17 at 11:20 pm. The office is closed on Sunday, September 18 and only opens at 9:30 AM on September 19. They charged us $20 a day for storage and said they stored it for three days Saturday even though there was only by the time they arrived 18 minutes of storage technically on the Saturday still charge the full rate of $20 And even though we couldn’t pick it up on a Sunday charged 20 bucks and arrived as soon as they opened on the Monday morning at 9:30 AM and charged us for storage of 3 days. It just seems unreasonable and unfair to charge somebody three days worth of storage when technically that vehicle didn’t sit there for more than a day and a half. And you’re at their mercy if you want your car back. I fully expected to be charged 20 bucks even though I think that is unfair of your not even open for me to grab my vehicle on Sunday. I was blindsided to be told they were charging us three days. I believe I should get a $40 credit back.Initial Complaint

On 7/7/2022 my vehicle was towed by AnB towing. I was very sick and did not realize they had towed my car until the 9th, 2 days later. I called the company trying to figure out why my car was towed they could not give me a valid reason why but they will not give my car back unless I pay their towing fees , which I cannot afford.Initial Complaint

A&B towing towed my car from my apartment complex without the consent of the property manager. They failed to contact local law enforcement within the 20 minute time frame as stated on 44-1379.04. they are attempting to have me pay a $200.00 towing fee, storage fee of $40.00, admin fee of $125.00 and collections fee of $127.75. Per Article 44-1379.01 (A1 and B5), they are not to exceed $125.00 towing and $20.00 storage fee. They are not to impose any charge for service or starge that exceeds this article.
