A friend and I originally booked the 18 day Northern Capitals and ****** in August, 2020. Due to Covid we did rebooked in the summer of 2021 for travel in August of 2022 and was given a "Bring Back the Magic" credit of $1,356 USD for this 18 day trip. In March, ************************* the region, we requested a change to the Country Roads of *******, *********** and *******, an 11 day trip. We have been told through our travel agent at AAA that Insight would not honor this credit, so in effect we are paying the same for an 11 day trip versus an 18 day trip (which is no longer being offered). I feel that this is unacceptable and would like the credit honored. Since we have paid for this trip in full, we would like a refund amounting in $1,356 in credit to our original method of payment and not a credit for a future tripBusiness response

We have booked guided tours 3 times with Insight vacations 3 times in the last 2 years the most recent re-booking on April 15. We were informed on April 18 we were denied to be on this tour as they had already sold out. The 2nd trip was cancelled due to not enough people booked and the 1st due to Covid. You cannot respond to email or access their website unless a tour is confirmed. Wait time for customer service are in excess of 3 hours during normal business hours. We would like a refund of the $9000.00 insight has held for nearly 2 years while jerking us around trying to actually book a trip.Business response

Booked our dream vacation thru AAA/ Insight Vacations 11/19/2019. Trip was booked for 9/13-9/25/20 to Ireland. Tour was eventually cancelled, people were dying from the virus. Initial deposit was $1678. July, 2020 we were notified we needed to pay the balance. We didnt feel comfortable traveling out of the ********** want to pay the balance not knowing if the trip would ever go fearing we would lose all. After many contacts, got $1,100 in vouchers. We asked for cash instead repeatedly. Vouchers are useless at our age & with the pandemic, Our booking # is A523601. Please help us with this as no one else wants to.Thank you. Hope this message finds you well. Thank you for reaching out to us and for being a valued Insight Vacations customer. Regarding your trip to Ireland, because you elected to cancel the trip using insurance for an uncovered reason, unfortunately, we are unable to provide you a refund.
When you purchase our travel protection plans and cancel for a covered reason, you get a refund of the cancellation penalties in your original payment method. In this particular case, since you canceled for an uncovered reason, the policy is to refund in future travel credits only, hence why you received vouchers.
If it is helpful, we are willing to extend the expiration dates of the vouchers. Please also know that the vouchers are transferable if you wish to gift them to family or friends. The vouchers can also be used with any of our sister brands.
I hope this helps answer any questions or concerns you had about canceling using our travel protection plans. Thanks again for contacting us and for being a valued Insight Vacations customer.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. I would like to have the time extension for the vouchers. I also would like to be informed of the length of the extension. Once informed of the length of the extension, I will consider this complaint resolved. I also reserve the right to allow a family member or friend to use the voucher.

Booked a tour but with covid and variants popping up, at my age (74) and with health problems, we decided it was just too risky and had to cancel. After filing complaint ********, I received a partial refund of $4157.20. I have not yet received $3,208.00.Business response

Hope this message finds you well. We refunded back $4,478.13 and $3,226.78 to your credit card ending in **** back in August. Please confirm with your credit card company on the status of your refund as sometimes credit card companies process refunds/credits differently. Sometimes it could take up to 90 days but please check with your credit card company.
