I would like to report a fraudulent practice of selling "NEW" medical beds but delivering USED ones. I purchased a supposedly brand new medical bed for my mother who lives in an assisted living facility in ***************, ** last year. When I asked a quote by phone, I was given 2 quotes, one for a used bed and the other for a brand new bed (more expensive). I chose the new unit, and the bed was delivered to my mother's facility later. I lived out of town so the first chance I was able to visit my mother and examined the bed, it was a couple of months later, Unfortunately, I found out that it is NOT a brand new bed as I had ordered. Two reasons: First, there is NO (proprietary) batter for the bed's remote control (according to the manufacturer's product information), nor any manual. Secondly, there is a white paint **** *** on the cable underneath of the bed (if it were new out of the box, there should not be that paint ****** The bed was not even operational (not plugged into the electrical outlet by the delivery guy as I found out later). I called Caremax to let them know about those issues (technical problem, missing battery and manual, and not new as described). They sent a technician to plug the bed in, and that technician even noted on his form about the pre-existing paint **** and no remote battery per my request. I called Caremax again, asking for a refund of the price difference (between the new and old unit) and the customer rep said she would check with their management and get back to me. However, when I heard nothing from them and called back later, the management said they would NOT do anything about the price adjustment. My mother's physician said that this company has a history of delivering OLD medical bed, wheelchair... ****ed as brand new products to their elderly clients, maybe because they do NOT submit official complaints against the company. I consider their practice very FRAUDULENT one and I've told them I would seek justice through BBB.
