Extremely overpriced. Basically a money grab operation. My son attended 2 days out of 5 of the ** Tech/Battlebots camp at *****************. The temperatures were above 95F, and yet they kept the kids outside for half an hour each day. There was no snack or social breaks. No coding. Computers were not up to date and networks weren't working. My son was left to his own devices. I couldn't put him through more of this misrepresented and poorly managed "course". Then we've learned that there are no refunds/credits/day switches within 14 days for any reason, even if your kid get sick. The customer service guys give you a runaround like a bad car dealership, promising to call back and never calling back. Avoid this business!

Not a good overnight camp. They will leave your kids in a room with computers for 3 hours after day camp. Then send them to bed. Disappointed. And when I complained they said they had shaved ice one day.

Overpriced tech camp that does not live up to their promises. We paid for our 3 sons to go to a one-week Mon-Fri ************** camp in ******* at the *************** campus. The older 2 boys were grouped in the same class. The first day was a wash, with mostly instructions given. Some coding teaching was done for the next 3 days. But mostly, the kids were doing the assignments on their own on the computers with minimal teaching from the camp counselors (college students). My kids told me the college students were playing on their phone for most of the time, just barely supervising the kids. The last day, Friday, was a half day and was spent mostly playing and wrapping things up. My youngest (8 years old) learned very little during his class. Most of the time, he was allowed to play Minecraft in the name of learning. I paid more than a thousand dollars per kid, for about 3 days of instructions, and the kids did not learn much. We felt it was a waste of money.

I enrolled my child in the overnight VR Design with Unity and Meta Quest 2. We also attended ID Tech at Rice last year, and it was very different than the camp was this year. They are clearly trying to cut costs while still charging a premium for the camp session. My daughter's dorm room had a moldy shower, and the door opened to an outside walkway. She returned home with hives due to an allergy from showering in moldy water. She also lost a lot of weight because the food was disgusting this year. Though I was told by the camp that the boys and girls were seperated, some boys had a dormroom two doors down from my daughter. The boys were so close that, when I dropped her off, we were worried that they had accidentaly put her on the boys side. After checking with counselors, we were assured that we were in the right place. Later that week, my daughter's roommate alerted a counselor that my daughter had been sneaking out to see the boys, and the boys had been in my daughter's dorm room. Lights out was at 10 pm, and students were expected to stay in their rooms. At that point the counselors went to sleep. When I asked the camp director about this, she told me that the counselors needed to rest and prepare for the day. While I understand this, I also know it is common sense that you don't leave middle and high schoolers completely unchaperoned after 10 pm. What were they thinking? I went through my daughter's text messages, and it was clear kids were running all over that dorm at night. I am addressing my daughter's behavior at home, but I am appalled the camp didn't decide to have some sort of monitor in the halls at night when they decided to have co-ed dorms. The director put this decision on ****, stating that they never know what kind of facilities they will have. They advertised that there was parent's day at the end, but there wasn't. Since all of the scripts the kids were learning were pre-written by the camp, it didn't really matter.

I am recently informed my personal info was found in a data breach of ID Tech. Next problem is, I do not recall any business relationship with ID Tech. Certainly not a coding bootcamp or whatever the business does. Go away, ID Tech. Leave me out of your databases.

      Idtech is misleading US clients.

      1) Misleading website "based on the USA": The online program looks like designed for U.S. clients but actually they differentiate the classes through INDIA time zone and AMERICAN time zone, including prices and time schedule. The website looks like a U.S. online school, you can see the pricing with discount and it is said it has a U.S.A. based instructor. But when I got enrolled and paid the money, when we called the customer service about how to attend the class, it is said this schedule and price is only for the INDIA time zone! This is scam and this is misleading. If the class will be taken on INDIA time zone when there is no clear disclosure? Why all the information left is "based on the USA"?

      2) Misleading "No risk": On their website, under the class picture, it is said "no risk, cancel anytime". The fact is, you can cancel, but you can not get refund! They said they keep the credit, and I have to change to other classes from them. They call the CANCEL? No refund cancel?

      3) No disclosure: Pricing based on time zone. No disclosure that price based on USA time zone is 3 times more than the India time zone class. The website only displayed the the price based on India time zone, but, no show this class is taken on India time zone.
I called customer service, the lady said their office is located at Campbell California. The lady called Angela and she admitted that they are not disclosed the INDIA time zone and pricing differences based on different time zone. The class based on the USA actually is above 600, but the price showed on website is XXX-XXX. (No disclosure that this price is based on India Time zone)

This is for Parents who plan to sign up and for others you might plan on working at iD Tech

I started working at ID Tech near the beginning of April of 2021. Since I've started I've only taught 1 class from April all the way towards July. Everything at iD Tech is so confusing and classes are made so weirdly.

They expect us to teach the material in 1 hour and when you look at what they want us to teach, it's so much stuff that I keep wondering how in the world will the student learn anything.

Now about the classes, When I started I thought that when a student signs up for your class, then you have them for 5 or so days. No that's not the case. They just sign up for one class. So the kid could have had 3 others already teach him, but to make it more of a pain because sometimes those past classes already taught them everything. This leads to you trying to figure out what to teach them and having a whole class asking what you do and don't know.

When you start you have a head you always communicate with and have meetings every 2 weeks. When I told them my problem of me only having one class, they responded back with "Maybe have more weekend classes." I was working from Monday - Friday and I only had one class. Now my boss just tells me to work on the weekend for more classes. Ok fine, I do that also and still nothing for almost 6 weeks. When I ask them that I still have no classes they just repeat what they said last time "More weekend classes."

I'm not the only one who is facing this problem. I know some people that work here for weeks, even months and still haven't taught a class. We discussed this and all believed that we're the bottom of the barrel picks. Meaning that we are the last people that others pick when the ones that have taught 100s of classes can't teach something.

It truly is a waste of time and money. I could have had another job and made money from that rather than sitting here praying I get another class.

For parents : Don't sign your kids up for online classes. I suggest you wait for covid to end and send them to the iD Tech Camps. The online classes are a mess and your kids won't learn anything as I don't know how they can learn so much in 1 hour.

For someone trying to get a job at iD Tech : Don't even bother if it's for Online classes. You might have some luck for the Camp

For everyone : Beware as some counselors are very ignorant and think they know it all, but copy and paste 90% of the stuff they teach from Google.

Don't waste your money and time. There are plenty of great courses out there. My niece attended their course held at Rice University in the summer of 2018. They issued a certificate using her nickname. We asked them to reprint it with her real name as she wanted to use it for her college application. For some unknown reason it was impossible for them to reprint. They promised us they would mail it to us later. It never happened. When we contacted them, they mailed a certificate with the wrong university name on it, the one she never attended. We had to contact them again. It is hard to get responses to emails. After a few attempts, they sent another certificate. This time, the university name is correct, but the signature of the instructor is missing as they told as later when we had to contact them again, it was impossible to get hold of the instructor. It has been three years now, still trying to get the right certificate as she is soon to apply for colleges. I keep receiving their promotional emails, but do not get response to my emails to them. Recently received a "personal" email from **** - the owner. I got excited that I finally could write to him directly, even though the email came from their general/info email. I am still waiting for a response since 6/25/2021.
