On 2/21/23 I received maintenance services for my heating system from this company. I had a maintenance contract with them, and this was the second of two visits. It was a cold day, and the heating was working perfectly when the technician arrived. He went up on the roof and within minutes came down and told me that the system was not working, and I needed a replacement for the capacitor, which would cost me $325.00. I looked on Amazon and saw that this was a $13.00 part. I argued with him since it was working perfectly when he showed up. He had removed the old capacitor and showed it to me to show me how old it looked and refused to put it back unless I paid him. He then called his boss and I argued with him and finally agreed to pay $225.00 since I had no heat and I had no choice. I am disabled, so I was unable to drive and was unable to replace the park myself. I had already decided not to renew my contract with this company.Six months later, I hired another licensed company who came out for their first maintenace visit. The technician came down from the roof and told me that everything was working well. In his hand was the old capacitor, and he said "whoever was up there before didn't even clean up after himself". He told me that he had tried the old capacitor, and "it was still working even though it had rusted a little from all the rain. Clearly, I was lied to and ripped off by Canoga ******&AC, as I originally thought, but could not prove until now. Since I had already paid for the maintenance visit, I think they should refund my $225!I do NOT recommend this comapny!

On 2/21/23 ************** arrived to perform a maintenance tot he heating system as requested by the customer. Upon inspection of the system, the technician noticed the capacitor that powers the inducer motor tot he heating system was not at full strength which would cause the system to work intermittently. The point of maintenances on these systems is to make sure all parts are working efficiently and properly. When there is an area of concern, these issue are then brought up to the customer and recommendations are then given.  The issue of the capacitor was brought up to the customer and she denied any action taken and advised the technician she would be contacting her home insurance for repairs as stated in her original maintenance invoice. Customer called back concerning her heat not working and the technician advised it was due tot he same issue that had been brought to her attention during the maintenance. The capacitor was weak and only able to turn on the inducer motor intermittently. At that time, customer agreed to replace the capacitor. Part was installed and the system was now working at normal operation. Customer was happy at the time.

Many companies will try to discredit previous companies in attempt to win a customer over. Our technicians are trained to properly clean all working areas and would not leave any parts on the roof. There is no way of knowing if this new company hired was telling the truth and did not simply have an old part themselves to try and discredit CPHAC. Was there a picture of the part taken of when it was found by the new company? Is there any further documentation of them finding the part and testing it with the unit to make sure it was working and at full strength? Or was their word simply taken as is?
