    I put in a claim with First American on 7/26/2024 due to water pouring from my ceiling (broken pipe in the attic). The first plumber came to my home on 7/30/2024. They stated they could not do the work. Two additional contractors were assigned by First American. All stated they could not do the work to repair the pipes because they were Kitec pipes. Kitec pipes are defective pipes that, after a simple internet search explains they should be replaced. I called First American to let them know I found a plumber who could do the work. Instead of honoring the warranty and paying the plumber I found. They reassigned the first plumber, who stated they could not do the work, to return to my home. I am now 8 days without water in my home. Mold has began to grow and pieces of my ceiling are falling. I was told by 3 different representatives that they have escalated my case and that someone from First American would call me "within 24 hours." After 8 days this is what I received in the message center: "Good morning, Thank you for contacting First American regarding the plumbing claim. We have spoken with the plumber from (first company) and they have agreed to return to reevaluate the plumbing leak. The vendor should be in contact with you directly to schedule. I have listed their contact information below, should you need it: (first company information). Thank you for choosing First American and have a great day."

    This company is a SCAM. I have had a policy with them for 3 Years, and every time I call them a technician will come out, and more often than not the particular problem of whatever I called about is not covered by the policy that I have. So I paid the annual fee, I pay the $125 for the technician to come out and I still have to pay fully out of pocket for the repair. I dont know if all home insurance companies are like this - but this to me is a definition of a scam. They have written the contracts so to take advantage of the fact that most people have no working knowledge of the appliances that they are buying this insurance for, and so in my experience whatever has gone wrong in my house, has fallen under common problem but not covered! How convenient for First American Home Warrenty!
