Sent in and was 51/50'd and they made for a more traumatizing experience. They don't have any care for people with disabilities. Staff runs on spite with quotes like "it's not a threat it's a promise" about using violence and another telling multiple staff in the area that a patient is stupid. Also had staff constantly sassing patients who clearly needed mental help. Sarcastic and always irritated. Nasty rooms and found a bug on my bed. I asked to sweep but no one did. Nasty place Water inaccessible unless wait a minute for a small cup. Often staff is mad at desk and don't want to be bothered. No private calls available and only one phone for all the patients in the area. Barely able to sleep cuz they'd randomly turn on room lights or flash high beam lights into my eyes. Weeks later I'm still in pain from how they treated me. In the process of reporting. Actual psychopaths

I did not feel safe at this facility and the staff does not like the patients. I was repeatedly told I would never be able to leave by staff and the social worker. The social worker later told me, I just wanted you to give it a chance. I responded, Why didnt you say that in the first place? Additionally, I did not have washcloths to bathe with, I was denied water, I was denied medication for my migraine, a staff member laughed at me when I repeatedly requested to talk to my nurse and a staff member slammed a chair to the floor right in front of me and told me, You have to sit here! A patient from another room walked into my bathroom and took a shower and staff repeatedly refused my request to speak to my nurse. I deliberately looked at the clock when I was repeatedly denied to speak with my nurse, so as to hold accountable staff working that shift. The day before I left, a staff member came to me to tell me I was mistaken about the time. Moreover, staff wakes up patients by pounding on something and yelling, Wake up! It was not until I spoke with my father and told him to tell mom to get me out of here and not take no for an answer that I was finally able to speak with management. Note: The social worker repeatedly ignored my moms request to see me and when my mom threatened to call an attorney she told her, Well, why dont you then. This is the same social worker that told me I would not be able to leave. The next day the doctor released me.

Give yourself and your family a favor. Don't ever go to this hospital. They don't address safety and privacy professionally. They are not concern about the patients. Worst hospital ever !!!

My sons father was taken in on a 72 hour hold for a schizophrenic psychotic episode and died by suicide here! We are awaiting autopsy findings. How do you kill yourself in a crisis psych hospital? Please, do not go near! Many peoples lives have been traumatized, especially his child, due to this wrongful death. Horrendous!

I believe that they are understaffed and struggling with giving adequate care to patients when I stayed there. They tried though, given the cards they had. They even made me feel special. Sure, some of the staff could use more training, but the fact that they made me a heal fast was amazing ??. Usually I need at least 3 months, I did it in weeks. Some worked overtime ??. I think they need more funds quickly. It would be a shame if they lose their good staff. They need more funds to do more research into their already extraordinary recovery time and hire/keep more staff. Would like to see them do this to all clients ?? not just the ones who need more help. Keep up the good work.

If you have a loved one who needs care and treatment, then do not choose Canyon Ridge Hospital. Our daughter was admitted involuntarily to this facility and the treatment she received there was shocking. As stated in other reviews it is almost impossible to reach anyone to discuss anything and the phone rings out constantly with no answer. Similarly, the case worker assigned to our daughter was disinterested and offhand and it was very difficult to reach her, she did not respond to numerous calls. Many of the nursing staff try their best, but staff turnover is high. The main problem lies with the management and the CEO. Please stay away from this facility.

I was misdiagnosed with bipolar, put on Very strong drugs which caused neurotoxic effects leading to hospitalization. This happened more than once until I was correctly diagnosed. During these times, I witnessed psych techs being abusive to patients, the hospital discharging actively suicidal patients because their insurance expired or they had no insurance, while over extending low risk patients with good insurance. I was verbally abused often by Dr H*** who told the nurses to refuse me care when I was having a severe neurotoxic storm for hours and told them to be verbally abusive to me because I was "faking" for attention. He told me if I filed a negative review, he would prevent me from leaving the hospital, and tried to force me to agree to his diagnosis by extending my hold til I agreed. The med nurse saw my suffering and agreed to lower my doses and that was the only way I escaped. I came out feeling shamed and disgusted, wanting to die rather than go through that hell again. It's taken me years of ptsd counseling just to write this. Patients are treated like animals or prisoners by much of the staff. Punishment is the norm if you dont agree with everything they say. Male patients kept coming into my room and I felt unsafe but the staff ignored it even though there was a female patient there who had already been raped. Staff regularly mocked and insulted the patients. As someone who it turns out never had a mental illness needing that level of care, I am uniquely suited to state the way we treat mental illness is a joke and Canyon Ridge is a joke, solely concerned with making a profit at the expense of care. They should be investigated and held accountable.

Why does no one answer the phone in Unit 2? The phone will ring a zillion times until Verizon hangs up. My son has been in there for over 2 weeks and I can't get consistent updates on his progress because it's impossible to get anyone to answer the phone! I can talk to the receptionist and the case manager but they don't have eyes on my son. I have never had such poor communication from a psych unit and my son has been in a lot of different hospitals.

If I could give 0 stars I would. My daughter was put on a 72 hold through Kaiser and sent to Canyon Ridge, I should have check the reviews before I allowed that to happen. When you call the minors unit the phone just rings for 15/20 mins no one picks up. When you try to get a hold of a doctor your sent to voicemail my daughter started her period and was told she could only use the restroom 3x time within 2 hrs. Billing department contacted me first about how I was going to pay the $250 per day before my daughter was even seen by a dr. Within the 72 hour hold my daughter may have seen the Dr. Walker 2x time and maybe for a hour on Monday and Tuesday. She was search, wire taken out of her bra, her hair taken down without anyone calling me a notify me. I stated my concerns to Dr W***** and he stated that he only worked Monday-thru Friday, and even with att. I will not be able to removed my daughter. When I went to get my daughter after the hold her cell phone jewel and other items are lost. This hospital shouldn't be considered anything as such. It needs to be closed down do not send your family here especially a minor child they will but your child more at risk than anything
